Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina, DE: Like just about everything else that Jadeveon Clowney does athletically, his workout numbers are jaw-dropping. ... Clowney was tested by Gamecock coaches the week before South Carolina started spring ball. He vertical jumped 38 inches and clocked a 4.54 40 weighing 274 pounds. A year ago, he ran a 4.58 at 257.

Eleven days later, top prospect decommits from LSU

07:20 AM ET 05.22 | Well, this didn't take long. The nation's top junior college prospect D'Haquille Williams committed to LSU just 11 days ago but already the 5-star wide receiver has had a change of heart. Williams, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound receiver at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, told NOLA.com today that he has decided to re-open his recruitment after committing to LSU on May 10. "I decommitted from LSU so I can explore all my options," Williams said. "I plan on doing so during the summer and fall." Williams is still considering LSU along with Auburn, Alabama, Texas A&M and Florida State among others. Williams' teammate at Mississippi Gulf Coast, defensive back Derrick Moncrief, is currently committed to Auburn.

07:18 AM ET 05.22 | So much for websites and billboards celebrating the many accomplishments of Teddy Bridgewater. [Bridgewater] doesn't ask for much. So when he told University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong and offensive coordinator Shawn Watson that he wanted to ask something of them, they listened. What he asked for was a bit of a surprise. ... [Sitting] with Strong and Watson, Bridgewater asked that the school not mount a Heisman Trophy campaign for him, but instead have any emphasis or publicity include the team as whole. That's right. Bridgewater gave a stiff arm to the stiff arm trophy, or at least, to the surrounding hype. And Strong says he will respect his player's wishes. "We're going to let Teddy go and play," Strong said.

Golic bolts ND but will play in 2013

07:18 AM ET 05.22 | One of the more famous names in South Bend has taken his talents to Cincinnati. Former Notre Dame tight end Jake Golic will transfer to the UC football team for his fifth college season, Golic's father Mike announced today on his ESPN radio show "Mike and Mike." Jake Golic will be a fifth-year senior and can play right away at UC. Golic has graduated from Notre Dame (industrial design) and will play at UC as a grad student. Golic appeared in three games for Notre Dame in 2010 and in two games in 2012, with no receptions. He also played on special teams. ... UC cannot comment until Golic officially enrolls. Golic will join former Notre Dame teammate Gunner Kiel, who transferred to UC and began classes earlier this month.

Buffs' signing brings drama to Boulder

07:17 AM ET 05.22 | The message Jordan Gehrke would like to send to the Division II and III schools he turned down will be postmarked Boulder, CO. The Arizona high school quarterback no one wanted outside of schools ESPN had never heard of is coming to the Pac-12. One year after starring for Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College he signed a letter of intent over the weekend to play at Colorado next season. ... His signing adds a twist to Colorado's ever fluid quarterback situation. The Buffs lost two quarterbacks this spring when senior Jordan Webb, last year's primary starter, blew out his knee then got arrested for second-degree assault and junior Nick Hirschman transferred to Akron.
