07:58 AM ET 04.12 | If Dorial Green-Beckham wants to continue his college football career, he'll have to do it at somewhere other than Missouri State University. Missouri State president Clif Smart said Friday that he, athletic director Kyle Moats and head football coach Terry Allen met earlier this week to discuss Green-Beckham, anticipating that the University of Missouri might indeed dismiss the star receiver after a series of off-the-field incidents. They agreed, Smart said, that they would not expect Green-Beckham to join the Bears' football team. "That's not the kind of player we recruit to our program," Smart said.

09:26 AM ET 04.12 | It's been a topic of conversation for the last several days, mainly because of Texas Tech's lack of depth at quarterback. But for the record, Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury doesn't plan to take a few snaps in Saturday's spring game. Several bloggers had speculated that Kingsbury might return to action for the first time since playing with Team Texas in the All-American Football League in 2008 to help give Davis Webb some rest at the scrimmage. "I won't be playing," Kingsbury said Friday, chuckling. "I know they would find a way to cheap-shot me if I was out there." Kingsbury said he was amazed at how big the rumor became. "I have no idea where it came from," he said. "It was interesting. But I'll just be coaching away. That's the fun part for me now."

08:06 AM ET 04.12 | Texas quarterback David Ash suffered what the school said Friday was a "Jones fracture" in his left foot. He will undergo surgery next week and be sidelined the remainder of spring practice. Ash missed all but three games of the 2013 season with the lingering affects of a concussion after throwing for 2,699 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2012 and has received a medical redshirt year as a result. Ash is expected back for preseason camp, according to Texas football athletic trainer Anthony Pass. Website footvitals.com notes that while a Jones fracture can become a chronic condition, nearly 75 percent of fractures heal properly and do not recur.

07:57 AM ET 04.11 | This is the kind of news that takes the joy out of spring practice. Oregon junior wide receiver Bralon Addison has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, sources close to the receiver and program confirmed Thursday, a blow that is expected to cause him to miss the 2014 season and remove one of the Ducks' most explosive athletes from its offense. The severity of the knee injury was first reported by Comcast Sports Northwest after Addison left Wednesday's spring practice on a cart. A second source told The Oregonian that Addison planted his left leg to make a cut while running a route but crumpled to the ground. Addison caught 61 passes for 890 yards and seven touchdowns as a sophomore and returned two punts for touchdowns during a breakout season.
