05:45 AM ET 04.19 | Teddy Bridgewater's stock is falling faster than a Jets fan's heart races the day of the draft. After a scintillating junior season in which he completed 71 percent of his passes for 3,970 yards, 31 touchdowns and four interceptions in leading Louisville to a 12-win season, Bridgewater was considered the top quarterback prospect in the NFL Draft and even the top overall prospect by some. But, boy, have things changed in recent weeks, with Bridgewater dropping rapidly in mock drafts. In fact, ESPN guru Mel Kiper Jr. projected him as a second-round pick in his latest mock, going to the Texans, and the NFL Network's Mike Mayock said he wouldn't be surprised if Bridgewater went in the second round.

06:09 AM ET 04.19 | The Dallas Cowboys have decided to exercise their fifth-year option on Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith that will keep him in Dallas at least through 2015, according to a source. That's long been the Cowboys' intention. A source close to Smith said a month ago that it was "a given" that the Cowboys would use their option to add a fifth year to Smith's rookie contract. The Cowboys have yet to notify Smith or his agents in writing, however, according to a source. Though the Cowboys could begin talks on a long-term contract extension for Smith at any point, they can now focus all of their attention on signing Pro Bowl receiver Dez Bryant to a long-term contract extension first. Bryant, the Cowboys' 2010 first-round pick, can become an unrestricted free agent after the 2014 season.

05:12 AM ET 04.19 | Per a league source with knowledge of the team's thinking, the 49ers still haven't made a decision on picking up the option on Aldon Smith. And they don't have to make a decision until May 3, the deadline for picking up the option. The option-year salary of $9.75 million for Smith would be guaranteed for injury only until the first day of the 2015 league year. At that point, it would become fully guaranteed for 2015.

06:14 AM ET 04.19 | Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Henry Melton and a bar owner have settled their litigation over assault claims from a December scuffle, according to court documents. Donald Payne, owner and manager of Chill Sports Bar in Grapevine, filed a lawsuit in January claiming Melton punched and bit him. Melton later filed a counterclaim saying that bar staff hit, kicked and choked him. A court filing Thursday said Melton and Payne had agreed to dismiss all claims against each other. Christian Dennie, Melton's attorney, said no payments were made to either side.
