05:21 PM ET 05.23 | The football player formerly known as Honey Badger is officially under contract. Former LSU defensive back Tyrann Mathieu signed a four-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, the team announced. Mathieu was Arizona's third round pick in April's NFL Draft, "I'm part of a family now, so I'm obligated to the community and the entire Arizona Cardinals organization," Mathieu said, according to the Cardinals official website. "The Bidwill family, Steve Keim, the coaching staff, I'm obligated to everybody now, it's my responsibility." Mathieu was spectacular in two seasons at LSU, but was dismissed from the team in August after failing several drug tests. Despite his off-the-field troubles, Mathieu always believed he would end up in the NFL, "I never doubted it," Mathieu said. "I knew it was a long shot and it would be a process, but to finally sit down and sign my name on the dotted line means a lot to me."

03:17 PM ET 05.23 | The New York Giants have their hands full with their current standoff with Pro Bowl wide receiver Victor Cruz, but to make things worse, they now have a situation developing in the wrong direction with their other big wide out target. According to Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole, Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks is unhappy with his current contract and is skipping OTAs to send his team a message. Nicks' agent later said skipping OTAs had nothing to do with the contract situation. It's worth noting that OTAs are voluntary, but in the same way that a company picnic is voluntary. No, you don,t have to go but people do notice when you're not there and still expect an excuse for your absence. In Nicks' case, his excuse is he wants more money and wants to fast track his payday that is eventually coming to him.
