04:26 PM ET 05.24 | New York Jets running back Mike Goodson, after pleading not guilty to drug and weapons charges earlier this week, will join his teammates for organized team activities next week, according to sources in a report from Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com on Friday. Goodson was not present at the team's OTAs last week. As Cimini writes, while OTAs are voluntary and Goodson could have participated this week, both the team and player decided to wait until the situation settled down before Goodson's return.

04:18 PM ET 05.24 | Mike Ditka's playing days are less well-known than his coaching days, but the Chicago Bears will retire the No. 89 jersey he wore with the team as a tight end during the 1960's, per ChicagoBears.com. Ditka, who became a mustached, sunglasses-wearing folk hero in Chicago for coaching the 1985 Bears to a Super Bowl, hasn't been on the best of terms with the team since being fired in 1992. But they appear interested in making amends with the Hall of Famer, beginning with the ceremony scheduled to be held during a Monday Night Football game against the Cowboys -- where Ditka also played and began his coaching career -- on Dec. 9.

02:47 PM ET 05.24 | The Pittsburgh Steelers plan to add outside zone-blocking to its running game this season, as offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr. has spent the early part of organized team activities teaching the new techniques. This scheme will be used to complement the team's power running game and work with an agile and young offensive line.
"I like it. I like it a lot," tackle Marcus Gilbert said of the new wrinkle. "It is going to take time for the whole line to get it but ... coach said it has been looking good so far."
In 2012, the Steelers' leading rusher, Jonathan Dwyer, had just 623 yards on the ground.

07:02 AM ET 05.24 | According to a teammate, it's time Gang Green moves on from Mark Sanchez. This from a Jets player, who asked not to be identified: "Everyone on the team likes Mark personally but there's a general feeling among some of the players that maybe it's time to give someone else a chance." The player went on to say that he estimates that 80-90 percent of the team feels the same way he does. However many players it is, none of them could be blamed for wanting Sanchez to move on. In recent seasons, he's been an utter disaster. It is, in fact, only fair to let Sanchez go, so Sanchez can find a fresh start. In a Wednesday session of Jets OTAs, Sanchez threw three picks in 11 pass attempts.
