08:03 AM ET 05.18 | New England Patriots star tight end and party goer Rob Gronkowski is set to undergo a fourth arm surgery early next week to clear out an infection. The timetable for Gronkowski's return could keep him out of the preseason and put his status from the Patriots' season-opener in jeopardy, but that will not stop the ultimate bro from going out with a bang -- Vegas-style. Jumpseat.me is giving fans an opportunity to ride in a private jet with Gronk and teammate Julian Edelman for his last-minute party before the next surgery. Gronk is such an avid party guy that he wants to make sure there are plenty of people involved. Up to four people will win the trip and that means we have a much greater chance of cell phone photos of Gronk running the bar or pounding shots shirtless will surface on the Internet.

07:59 PM ET 05.18 | Brandon Weeden admitted Friday he had no advance knowledge that the Browns were signing quarterback Brian Hoyer, but he's not worried about how it will impact the quarterback competition. "I was surprised, but that's the nature of the beast," Weeden said Friday at the Cleveland Browns Foundation charity golf outing at Westwood Country Club. "It's part of this business and if you start worrying about it, that's too much to worry about. That's my mentality going forward."

07:54 PM ET 05.18 | Do you think Polumbus would have spurned the Jaguars -- a team where he had connections to a few key coaches -- if he believed he might lose his job in Washington to Jeremy Trueblood or Tony Pashos, veteran right tackles who had signed as free agents a few days earlier? Yeah, we don't think so, either.

Jets offer David Garrard coaching internship

03:19 PM ET 05.18 | The New York Jets brought in David Garrard during the offseason to add some extra competition to the battle for the starting quarterback position, and while that didn't work out for either party, Garrard could remain a part of the organization. The Jets have given Garrard the opportunity to serve as a coaching intern during training camp. "The Jets offered me the chance to come back if I want to take a shot at that coaching thing with an internship in training camp," Garrard told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "I told them I'd talk with my wife about it, so I could still work with those guys. It's definitely something I'm considering." Garrard recently decided to retire because of a nagging left knee injury. The surgically-repaired knee kept swelling after practice, and Garrard eventually concluded that he couldn't realistically compete for the Jets' starting quarterback job while hampered in such a manner.

Chargers sign veteran pass rusher Dwight Freeney

02:51 PM ET 05.18 | The San Diego Chargers have signed the probable future Hall of Famer Dwight Freeney to a two-year deal. The 33-year-old, seven-time Pro Bowler has spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts and the vast majority of his success has come as a defensive in a 4-3 alignment. He struggled at times last year as an outside linebacker in a 3-4, but he was also battling through a high ankle sprain in addition to the position change. The Chargers defense primarily works out of a 3-4, but they give plenty of 4-3 looks and will likely do so more now that they have acquired arguably the top pass rusher left on the free agent market who just so happens to excel from a three point stance. This signing was necessitated by the injury earlier this week suffered by Melvin Ingram. Tom Telesco moved and moved quickly to plug that hole, first by signing Thomas Keiser and now Dwight Freeney.
