08:25 AM ET 05.25 | Michael Vick is on the wrong side of 30 in a league flooded with young, lightning-quick quarterbacks, but the Philadelphia Eagles veteran still believes he's the fastest signal-caller around. In a Friday morning chat with "The Dan Patrick Show," Vick said he could whip Robert Griffin III, Colin Kaepernick -- or anyone else -- in a footrace. "These guys are young and they're fast and they're quick, the thing I do have is a very quick get-up," Vick said. "I really don't feel like there's a quarterback in the league that can beat me in a 40-yard dash. If somebody wants to set something up, I'll be more than glad to accept the challenge. But as of right now I'm going to say me. But Colin Kaepernick is fast and RG3 is fast, as well." Vick made waves this offseason when he beat LeSean McCoy in a 40-yard dash. The Eagles running back insists Vick cheated, but the quarterback laughed that off.

11:11 AM ET 05.25 | Coach Mike Shanahan was noncommittal on whether the Redskins' offensive system will be adjusted next season to minimize the injury risks for quarterback Robert Griffin III. "We really don't know what defenses are going to do to us," Shanahan said following Thursday's offseason practice, known as an organized team activity, at Redskins Park. "I can't tell you for sure. You adjust the game plan during the game. Defenses are going to be more ready for different things we did last year. And we'll be able to adjust." Griffin's father said this week he would like to see his son throwing the ball more often and running with it less frequently. Shanahan reiterated his view that the option-style elements in the Redskins' offense help to keep Griffin healthy by slowing down the pass rushes of opposing defenses. "Remember, the zone read probably gave Robert more time in the pocket than anything you could do in the National Football League," Shanahan said.

Jared Allen remains hostile with Minnesota Vikings

02:54 PM ET 05.24 | The Minnesota VIkings are entering an interesting period in terms of where the franchise is headed, but there's a massive, mulleted question mark standing in the way of fans fully embracing the change. Jared Allen told the Star Tribune earlier this week that he would leave the Vikings if they asked him to take a pay cut and he hasn't backed off that claim. In fact Allen is continuing to question his future with the Vikings and has said he's not sure if he'll be with the Vikings in 2014 after his contract expires. Allen is entitled to a decent chunk of coin for living through the terrible teams Minnesota has produced the last few years since 2009 but you can't complain about not having good talent and then lock the safe when it comes time to chip in and put your money where your mouth is. Vikings fans are growing increasingly displeased with Allen and this lashing out at the team he has been so much a part of is a really bad look for Allen -- worse than the mullet which is increasingly becoming uncool with each hostile remark he makes.

05:08 PM ET 05.24 | The struggles for New England tight end Rob Gronkowski continue: although his fourth surgery on his once-broken, eventually infected left forearm appears to have gone well, the Pats' medical staff is now turning their attention to his back, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Gronkowski has experienced chronic pain in the back for about a year, dating back to before he injured his arm. He intends to see an expert in about a month to check it out. It seems the team isn't sure what to expect.

Report: Urlacher was interested in Cowboys

05:00 PM ET 05.24 | After the 2012 season, the writing was on the wall for (Brian) Urlacher and there was some noise circulating that the Bears weren't too motivated in bringing back a player who was the centerpiece of their defense since he was drafted ninth overall back in 2000. Reports and rumors surfaced that the Dallas Cowboys were interested in Urlacher's services, but Stephen Jones shot the idea down back in March. "Any time you're talking about a Hall of Fame player in Urlacher, you don't ever dismiss Hall of Famers, in my book," Jones said Monday at the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix. "It would be difficult, he obviously plays what Sean Lee plays, to move everything around for a year. Doesn't really make a lot of sense. But at the same time, you don't ever rule anything out." With Sean Lee in the middle, it really didn't make a lot of sense for Dallas to financially pursue the services of the aging linebacker.
