Hard decisions looming for B's

07:22 AM ET 05.21 | The issue not as dire as it once seemed, the Bruins blue line slowly is getting healthy. Wade Redden (upper body) participated fully in yesterday's practice at the Garden, while Dennis Seidenberg (lower body) skated for a half-hour before the workout with strength coach John Whitesides. ... Both defensemen traveled with the team to New York, and coach Claude Julien said a decision on their availability for tonight's Game 3 will be made today. Andrew Ference, who has been seen in a walking boot, still has not skated. ... When Seidenberg returns, it would make sense for the Bruins to put him back with captain Zdeno Chara and take rookie Dougie Hamilton out of the lineup. It will be more difficult, however, to get Redden back in the regular rotation.

07:20 AM ET 05.21 | St. Louis' prospects will have a new home next season, in Chicago, a development that has some in Peoria singing the blues. In early April, the Blues announced that they had sold the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League to the Vancouver Canucks, after which the Blues unveiled a three-year agreement with the independently owned Chicago Wolves. The move has been met with excitement among Blues and Wolves officials. But that's not the case in Peoria, Ill., because the Canucks said they will move the team. ... "I do feel bad for fans of the Peoria Rivermen," Blues owner Tom Stillman said in his first public comments since the swap. ... "At the same time, and the fact is, we weren't getting overwhelming support in the Peoria market."

Sharks lose Havlat once again to groin injury

07:23 PM ET 05.20 | The San Jose Sharks lost Martin Havlat back in Game 1 of their series against the Vancouver Canucks, and he triumphantly returned to the Sharks lineup this weekend against the Los Angeles Kings. But the return was short lived as Havlat lasted just six shifts before leaving the game and he's now been ruled out for Game 4 on Tuesday night. It sounds like Havlat re-aggravated his groin injury that kept him out of the Sharks' last five games before Game 3 this weekend. If he's lost for more than just a single game, the Sharks could find themselves in a situation that prohibits them from advancing in the postseason. To the contrary, Havlat played meaningless minutes in Game 3 and exited early on. Despite that, the Sharks powered back to beat the Kings in overtime which means if he's lost for the rest of the series, the Sharks might be all right without Martin Havlat in the lineup.

NHL won't further punish Jonathan Quick for Game 3 rant

07:23 PM ET 05.20 | Los Angeles Kings netminder Jonathan Quick will not be disciplined any further by the NHL for his Game 3 rant about the officials, per a report from Helene Elliot of the Los Angeles Times. Quick received a game misconduct for his rant but Elliot says it will end there and the issue will be buried. Obviously Sharks fans will take issue with the NHL deciding to end its discipline of Quick where they did, especially after being blasted with punishment in the past 48 hours. Conspiracy theorists will claim the league is protecting Quick since he plays for Los Angeles -- a market that hockey needs to be popular in to be successful. But at the end of the day, games are won and lost on the ice and not in league offices, no matter how much they interfere. The Sharks would have liked to get Quick out of net for a game but they'll just have to beat the Kings the hard way.

05:04 PM ET 05.20 | The Pittsburgh Penguins are in the Eastern Conference semifinals and just a few wins away from making it to the Stanley Cup Finals and that has made forward Jarome Iginla think about his next move after the season is over. Whether or not the Penguins get to hoist Lord Stanley's Cup at the end of the postseason, there was some belief that Iginla could be hanging up his skates. But now, we know for certain that the NHL veteran is not ready to call it quits. Iginla picked the perfect opportunity when he waived his no-trade clause to make the journey to Pittsburgh. With the team that he has around him, there is no reason to call it quits when you can take a reduced role and play with one of the league's most talented teams moving forward.
