Report: Habs players faking injuries

There are fears of potential rioting in the downtown streets tonight. There are reported allegations, as far-fetched as they might be, that injured players Mathieu Schneider and Alex Tanguay opted not to play Monday because they are pending free agents. You want controversies? You've got them. And in what would be the final, most stinging blow to the Habs massive legion of loyal supporters, the Canadiens 100th anniversary season could come to a miserable end tonight if they lose to the hated Bruins, thereby completing a Boston sweep.

HAHAHAHAHA WHY DOESN'T THIS SURPRISE ME

I don't know about Habs faking things but Ragbhir Luongo sure does. Guy flops like a fish in the bottom of a skiff.

What about LOTF at the end of the game last night?

The scary thing about this board is when Brodeur threw his stick in rage last night, I thought about you and chuckled

How crazy would it be if it was deja vu from when Rocket Richard was suspended in the finals? Like Bettman shows up in the owners box and gets pelted with eggs and all that?

Faking injuries because they're pending free agents?!? That's more than far fetched, it's downright ludicrous.

April 22, 2009  11:26 AM ET

This story make Limberger cheese smell rosy.

*makes*

Almost as good as when he trew his masque off and dove to the ice like he was hit by a .50 caliber rifle during last year's series against The NYR

i find it really hard to believe that free agents would risk their reputation by faking injuries in the playoffs! This story would have a little bit more credibility if it was a team that was about to miss the playoffs anyways and they didn't want to injure themselves right before the offseason. But to do it in the PLAYOFFS? that's where i have a hard time believing the story.

He didn't flop like he had been shot. He still tried to make the play after he was bumped. And I'm still not certain in my own mind how that should have been ruled. Given he is a goalie any bump like he received can interfere with him, in the crease or not.

But Luongo hits the deck like he was hit with a sledgehammer and stays down. For no reason at all. Twice last night he did so. Bad as Claude Lemieux..

And for the record, I too was thinking of you as it all went down. Sad that at home and drinking beer and watching hockey that I'd think of you!

Hasek did it in Buffalo

April 22, 2009  12:32 PM ET

Who cares its a Montreal, they are about as relevant as Toronto. They press and fans are way to hard on their teams and until that relaxes they aren't going to win anything. To much pressure to play in those cities who would want to play there. Just cant wait until no more Canadien teams in the playoffs this year so we don't have to hear about this dumb stories.

The only time most people think of me usually has some manner of alcohol involved in it, no worries.
Anyone else see Richards sublte little kick at Fleury's skate? Imagine the hoo-ha if "someone else" had done that?
