Cutler's Chicago night life in question?

07:39 AM ET 04.22 | Word on the street -- Rush, Division, Hubbard, you name it in downtown Chicago -- is that downfield might not be the only place new Bears quarterback Jay Cutler likes to take his shots. Among Bears fans, Cutler's night life since coming to town earlier this month has made him an Internet smash up there with British singing sensation Susan Boyle. There Cutler is toasting new teammate Greg Olsen, shooting pool at Rockit Bar, singing at Wrigley Field or dropping the puck at a Blackhawks playoff game. When the Bears announced last week their 2009 schedule included five prime-time games, a smart aleck at Halas Hall considered it a good thing because Cutler plays so well at night. The buzz created by Cutler's social life, so to speak, is more amusing than alarming to the Bears, as it should be. All general manger Jerry Angelo and the Bears can do, really, is trust a player whose off-the-field behavior in Denver created more rumors than headlines. "When we did our research, we know he goes out, we know he does those things," Angelo said. "We talked to our medical people, we talked to the Denver medical people. It comes with the territory. We're comfortable with it. I really can't answer it beyond that."

The way the headline reads you would think the guy's being unprofessional....

We did our research and we won't comment because we f'ed it up.

What kind of research did you have? A phone call?

I think most pro athletes like to have a good time. If he plays like crap all bets are off.

When's the last time they had a football team anyone cared about?

Ahh booze hounding it. Well I guess that goes with any Quarterback in a high profile trade, they are watching him like a hawk!

April 22, 2009  08:15 AM ET

Does he keep wearing those damn dresses again???

April 22, 2009  08:20 AM ET

It's obvious he's a boozer by his puffy face. SFW?

April 22, 2009  08:26 AM ET

C'mon, the guy was shooting pool, not bouncers or himself. Its the offseason, he's in his twenties, mega rich and living in a new city. He went out for a few beers, out to watch a hockey game and a baseball game.
Sorry, whats the issue again?

God knows McMahon never would have done anything so controversial as attend a Blackhawks game

April 22, 2009  08:29 AM ET

Maybe he should also do a commercial with a steinbrenner........

Holy crap, a mid-20s kid with millions of dollars likes to go out on the town and drink?! In Chicago of all places? I never would have imagined it. What's next, are you gonna say he flirts with women??

If they caught him on his 5th Jager-bomb at midnight before a game...maybe it's news. If this is the worst publicity Cutler gets all year, then it will be happy times in Bears land.

Have fun youngblood, gettin paid gettin paid.

Good Morning Gentleman,
For what they gave up to get him I'd bet they shorten the leash when training camp begins. It's the off season, so w.t.f, party on.
