Who will coach the Kings?

06:26 AM ET 04.23 | According to sources close to the Kings, Kenny Natt is expected to be informed by the end of this week that he won't return as head coach. General manager Geoff Petrie said he is scheduled to leave Friday for Europe, where Spanish sensation Ricky Rubio is on his list of must-see prospects. Yet just as Petrie has taken his time addressing Natt's situation - mainly because he became a grandfather for the second time and was in Portland, Ore., with his daughter over the weekend and through Tuesday - it appears the search will be equally deliberate. Whereas the Washington Wizards have reportedly offered their head-coaching position to Flip Saunders, the Kings will likely take their time mulling over a much-longer list of candidates in the coming months that is thought to include Eddie Jordan, Mike Fratello, Jeff Ruland and John Whisenant.

Who will coach the Kings? Whomever is willing to take a pay cut from what Kenny Natt was making. In these tough economic times, Kings aren't even trying to be competitive.

the bigger question who will play for the Kings? That was an imposter NBA team this past season, possibly a NBA D-League impersonating professionals.

unfortunately, it doesn't really matter- because
they are a dead-man walking with that squad

The situation is shameful. No coach has a chance.

Kings have had terrible contracts, they have no hope for competing until the $9 mil for Kenny Thomas comes off the books. But at least Shareef Abdul-Raheem retired like a gentleman, they were hoping his salary will no longer count. It needed league approval and not sure they got it yet...

Exactly! The Kings aren't trying to compete. Anyone they hire will only be there on an interim basis anyway.

Yo, Sactown! How about Jerry Reynolds?!! Yeah. Bibbialicious!!!!!

The Kings are moving to Anaheim anyway. No arena deal will ever get done in Sacramento.

No way the Maloofs take AJ. He's sloppy seconds from Mark Cuban.

No he doesn't. Some idiot at FIU hired him to further drive the program into the ground.

Eddie has already been fired by the Kings once. Why hire him again. He's a sub 500 coach.

I had season tickets to the Kings for 10 years, gave them up this year. The tickets went from $52.00 per seat per game to $120.00 per seat per game. Their best player, Martin, probably wouldn't start for a majority of the teams in the league. Petries hands have been tied since he was forced to fire Adelman. Firing Adelman was the biggest mistake the Maloofs have made. I feel sorry for Petrie and whoever coaches that team. They are going to be bad for a long time and no there wll be no stadium deal.

The Kings should experiment with being the first NBA team to go through a season without a coach or a playbook.
