Devils won't change coaches

The most shocking loss in Devils history even left the team's general manager in a state of disbelief. But Lou Lamoriello, searching for answers the morning after, has no plans to change coaches or point a finger at goaltender Martin Brodeur for another first-round playoff knockout. "I don't have any explanation for what occurred last night," Lamoriello said. "In all my years I have not seen something like that." He said there is no reason to believe Brent Sutter will not be back for the final season on his contract, even though the coach has spoken of being homesick for his family, farm and junior hockey team in Red Deer, Alberta. Lamoriello indicated he has no intention of changing coaches.

He should coach the Flames!

I'm actually serious, let all 6 (hell all 7) Sutter brothers run the Flames organization. GM, head coach, assistant coaches, scouts.

Surely they'd all be on the same page?

Rumour is that LOTF is so upset he's hidden away with a case of Twinkies and two sisters-in-law

We might never see him again! :)

I think Sutter will be with the Flames soon enough. I wouldn't be shocked if he left on his own accord as he has said before he gets homesick. Either way, one more year wit hthe Devils is all that will happen.

I honestly hope so, even if it's a failure I want to see them give it a shot.

No no, he made up with Avery and the two are starting their own fashion line together. Its for small people, as they want to dress all the Ranger forwards.

I knew I could count on you getting the top 3 posts on this Spiny. Haha. I was thinking as I watched Broduer give up that last goal..."There really is a God that punishes the pieces of **** and rewards good" God it felt good to see that worthless pig skate off the Ice.

So it'll be like "American Girl" for hockey players?

Okay, Spiny...I keep seeing your acronymn LOTF, what's it mean?
Brodeau a worthless piece of ----? as one guy mentioned.
Seriously? Well oooookaaaaay.
I can't stand the Devils but come on.
As far as the Sutter's all in Calgary, that really would be something and may one day be destined to happen...I'd sure like to see it. Dinners at the family farm would be amazing with Brian at the head of the table.

LOTF = Lord of the Fatties

Sutter is as good as gone. Louie don't like losing.

April 30, 2009  10:58 AM ET

"the coach has spoken of being homesick for his farm"

What is this, West Virginia? :)

okay, a little backstory:
After last year's NYR/Devs series and the whole "Fatso" thingy, I always referred to him as Fatso, (as Ed Norton says, maybe the phrase just fit) because I came to realise what a dirty cheater he was. One Devils' fan who is in here regularly (nfkin?) got on me, because brodeur is the greatest goalie ever..so I changed him from merely "Fatso"to
Lord
of
the
Fatsos, as befits his greatness...not to mention his girth

Maybe if Sutter did go to Calgary he would get a personality. Most monotone man in hockey history.

LOTF - when did 6'2 - 215 become fat in hockey anyway.......the day Avery said it I guess.

Obviously you never met John Paddock, or Craig Hartsburg...

If you want interesting coaches, get Rick Bowness or Dave (Sparky) Allison.

Flames lose...Devils lose.... Brent Sutter will be the coach of the Flames by the draft.

April 30, 2009  12:09 PM ET

I'd rather see a sibling cross province rivalry. Come to Deadmonton Brent.....
