Spurs interested in Muntari

08:35 AM ET 05.04 | Harry Redknapp has again targeted the familiar on his summer shopping list, this time as he sets his sights on former Pompey midfielder Sulley Muntari. The Ghana international left Fratton Park for Internazionale last summer, leaving Pompey with a nice fat profit. That kind of turnaround proved far too tempting, even for Redknapp who was, and remains, a keen admirer of the powerful 24-year-old.

Has he played much for Inter? I've seen some of their matches, but I don't really recall him as a player, for Pompey or Inter.

Yes he has played a lot for Inter this year (23 games) and was a regular for 'Arry at Portmouth. Perhaps they just didn't play many Portsmouth games when you were watching... Not sure. But yes, he plays a lot and plays quite well.

He looked great with his hands wrapped around Goldenballs neck earlier this year. May have been a balloon d'or candidate if he would have squeezed just a little harder...

Sulley Alley Muntari is a helluva player.. I hope Inter dont let this guy go!

In other news.... what is up with the pic bro!? " Those bloody beans are destroying me son"

i agree, plus, as a regular for inter i think it would be a bad decision to leave for spurs

May 4, 2009  11:27 AM ET

i like muntari, he's pretty solid. i wouldn't be too surprised though if some sort of deal was worked out. although if it were me, i wouldn't go, as spurs is on my no-fly-zone. if he does leave he needs to take mancini with him, not only does he suck, he's ugly as sin.

He's not ferting in the pic "I is the Man" he's actually pinching one on the pottie. Damn English press will follow you anywhere...

May 4, 2009  11:43 AM ET

According to the Mirror they're swapping him for Jenas with someone throwing cash as well. Works for both sides I suppose.

Mirror also said "David Bentley, Didier Zokora, Tom Huddlestone, Gareth Bale, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent could also be on their way in a major clear-out as Redknapp looks to rebuild."

Lol, well done by the T&R crew on selecting this pic... They knew as soon as they saw it the comments would fly.

Since we are talking about Spurs - they will pick him up at a high transfer fee and then sell him in January at a loss.

Agreed. Isn't that a normal sympton of the "Tottenham Cause" that was mentioned in T&R a few days ago?

Also, Ole 'arry looks constipated. Its pretty similar to the face Brian Johnson from AC/DC makes when he's singing.

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-WAAAAAYYYYYY TO HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!

No no no, all wrong. Sell High, buy back just as high then sell again low. It's a revolving door of mediocre players. But hey, I love it.

Speaking of poo.....Ya know, I have rec'd two emails this past week from Fannation announcing they were "removing" some post I made months ago because it was deemed "offensive." To who? Who is still reading a T&R from 2 months ago? I'll be frank here--I'm not sure who is really finding some of these things offensive, but I know one thing, the censorship on FanNation can sure be downright virgin-like. I mean really, I wrote the work "Cummer" making a reference the other week to a porn inference someone else made as it had to do with "Welcome Back Kotter". Someone actually found this offensive! Are well all ten-year-olds here? Are we all bible-thumping grannies? Can not a little adult humor be allowed?

So that's why I wonder sometimes about the photos being an accident. it seems like a bunch of prudes run this place sometimes. Would they intentionally want to provoke a discussion regarding ferting and pinching loaves? I doubt it... That's right I said it again--pinching loaves.

We'll see how long this email stays up before it is banished to FanNation purgatory....

Thanks for listening...

That's because BJ is singing with a pair of shredded vocal chords and it really **** hurts to belt it out....

Damn-- they got me! Now they've censored ****.... that's just "Fing" stupid (hope that one works)... Couldn't **** be short for "freaking" too? Why so presumptious FanNation? Why so cynical? Why must you always assume the worst? Damn prudes...

May 4, 2009  01:20 PM ET

Hard to see Inter selling Muntari. They have too much shopping to do on their backline to sell off some of their midfielders. Cambiasso, Muntari, and Stankovic is a solid enough midfield, throwing in Zanetti, Vieira and Figo every once in a while (don't want to overtax the oldies).

Inter really needs to pick up two healthy, quality, central defenders and sell off some excess forwards to bring in one high quality guy to back up Ibrahimovic and work a rotation with Balotelli. It might help to bring in a winger that can actually play at a high level, too.

If they sell Ibra, though, wow. They would be in a lot of trouble. He has won too many games for them single-handedly this term. They would need serious reinforcement up top.

What did you say fuck for god's sakes!

May 4, 2009  02:36 PM ET

Muntari could stay at Milan, but he could also leave. I doubt it will happen swapping places with another player: since Inter wants young blood both in midfield and defense, I hardly think the Nerazzurri will accept any players currently on the Spurs' team...
Of course if they deal Ibrahimovic the whole picture changes...

Holycrappola--you just wrote the F-word dynamic! Wow. And it wasn't censored but **** is censored ? **** isn't even a bad word! This is truly amazing!
