05:05 AM ET 05.04 | A 33-year-old Dallas Cowboys staff member was left paralyzed and two other team staffers remain hospitalized after Saturday's practice facility collapse, which is now the subject of a federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigation, authorities said. It appears that lawyers for the Cowboys were already at work less than 24 hours after the collapse. On Sunday, The Dallas Morning News phoned Charles Timbie, a structural engineer in Pennsylvania who specializes in forensic analysis of building failures. When asked about his investigation of the collapse of a similar facility in 2003, he referred all questions to Levi McCathern, an attorney for the Cowboys. When asked if he had already been hired by the team's legal counsel as an expert, he again referred questions to McCathern, who did not return phone calls Sunday. According to McCathern Mooty LLP's Web site, McCathern specializes in catastrophic damage litigation and is "primary trial counsel" for the Cowboys and Jones' family.

I had hope that the Dallas' organization could look back on this incident with a little humor but the news of the permanent life changing injury ended that. We have to hope that the young man has a family and adjust to the situation. We know he'll have a job with the Cowboys. Lets hope our special teams coach can return and coach this year. We'll find out after his surgery.

It's a miracle many others weren't hurt in this incident....

I wish the Coach a successful recovery.

Somehow something just doesn't set right with me when there's talk of litigation already involving such a tragic event that JUST cocurred! All thoughts and concerns should be centered around those who lost something that money can never truly compensate for!

That's "occured" sorry, it's early!

It is the way of things. The Cowboys have to protect themselves too from liability in the tragic event.

It's sad, but business is business... And they definately have to protect themselves.

There's also a precedent set - the outfit that designed and built the structure was found negligent in the collapse of a similar structure a few years ago.

In terrorist attacks the value on a life is 1 Million dollars per person....

If the costs for security outweight the costs per life loss, unfortunately you must weigh the pro's and the con's....

the same company was found liabale in a structure collapse in Philly from snow. 64 mph winds are just shy of tornado strength, don't know of any buildings that claim to be tornado proof. Hope those injured recover quickly.
