Cardinals reject Dockett's trade request

Cardinals defensive end Darnell Dockett renewed a request to be traded last weekend, and the team promptly rejected it. Dockett made the latest request through his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, who also represents Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin. Both players have requested trades in the last year because they are upset the team hasn't given them contract extensions.

The price of winning..And sometimes losing too..

Trade for where? You just came off almost winning a championship and you want to leave? And go where?

May 5, 2009  08:13 AM ET

what good are NFL contracts? This is proof that the apocolypse is near.

Seems as though Rosenhaus will have all his Arizona clients quacking about not wanting to be there since they cut Edgerrin

It seems a 5-6 year contract know transcends into 1-2 years.. Besides the bs deals these rookies get, this is the problem. They signed a contract to play for X amount, Hold them to it.

Fine ......trade his prima dona **** to Cincy or Detroit for some 1st rounders. Why can't these players simply state their case for a new contract with out aotumatically whining "trade me". Again, I say trade him and get players who WANT TO WIN.

But I guess understand; how does one make it on $3.25 million?

Not that I disagree, but the problem with holding players to their contracts is that teams are not obligated to honor them. If they feel they need/want to go in a different direction, they can simply cut a player. I simply believe that the new contract requests could be done more cognitively and elegantly.

Rookies??? salaries are stupid! As are the Lions; M Stat will earned the most guaranteed money in NFL history without taking a snap. What? What kind of bizarro world do they live in?

this guy has had 1 good season....

Another whiny NFL prima donna - release him and let him find out what it's like to work for a living

I agree Snake. Did we during our working days demand huge rasies every year? Were we allowed to hold out from work because we were a bit pissed? I say pay these guys on one year deals. Pay for play.. There are plenty of other ignorant large guys who can run, and catch a ball out there.

Or at least a lockout.......

May 5, 2009  11:48 AM ET

Most players don't care about winning, they care about their money. The only reason they play well is to get more money, winning is just a side effect. It's funny how we talk about this or that player being a cancer to their locker room. While often true at least their only impacting one club. Drew Rosenhaus is a cancer to EVERY locker room.

Somethings not right in Arizona......

May 5, 2009  12:15 PM ET

Drew Rosenhaus= greatness

Shut your mouth you spoiled little brat. You make millions playing a game, probably never had a real job in your life, and you are mad that they are not giving you a new contract on top of an existing contract because you think you should get more money? Be happy you have a job, idiot.
