Future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre might make another encore, only this time in purple. ESPN reported that Vikings coach Brad Childress plans to meet with Favre this week, and a person with knowledge of the situation told the Pioneer Press that the Vikings are talking about meeting with the former Green Bay Packers star. Childress indicated Friday that the Vikings would talk about Favre. 'We talk about everything,' he said. Both he and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who was Favre's quarterbacks coach for three seasons, have friendly relationships with Favre. Indications Tuesday evening were that Childress already might have left the Twin Cities for the meeting with Favre at an unknown location.

Day 6. I'm retired...no I'm not, no, really this time. Wait, did I say retired? I didn't really mean it. Maybe next time I'll mean it, buy maybe not.

Play for the Viqueens and throw interceptions to Harris and Woodson.

I would love to see him hit so hard, he gets Joe Theisman leg.

It's T&R day with Brett Favre!

May 6, 2009  07:07 AM ET

what the hell has Tavarius Jackson ever done in the NFL that anyone should worry about what he thinks?

May 6, 2009  07:07 AM ET

I don't wish injury upon him or anything.. I've been sick of seeing his name daily for a few years now though.

May 6, 2009  07:46 AM ET

The only reason the Vikings should sign him is if he can gaurantee them he'll win the Superbowl this year; and you know what, he can't. For an NFL player he looks old, is old and he looks more tired after each game. He just wants to beat his old team (if he can) and then he's going to walk away with a whimper leaving another team with a quarterback transition. Farve was the man for a long time, now it's going to take a long time for fans to forget his selfish acts during the last few years of his career. Favre, quit acting like a scolded child and stay retired in Mississippi.

Buy a damn wad of franchise fast food 'raunts and get out of the limelight already. Even GW knows enough to stay home and cut brush.

Didn't we already have this one before?

Right on the head.....I want to see the Pack defense sack the piss out of him

The only reason he wants to play for minn. is to try and beat ted thompson twice a year

May 6, 2009  10:23 AM ET

Two in one day? I mean I love Brett too but 2 in one day???? TO come back TO!!!!

May 6, 2009  11:39 AM ET

Can't someone talk some sense into Favre. Mike Holgren for example. What a waste of a career. Ted Thompson looks better and Brett Favre looks worse every day this goes on.

Well, as for them not fitting, do you think there might be some dietary issues involved? I'm not pointing fingers, just preparing you for what Brett might bring up in court.

You could also counter that it was the humidity.
