Larry Foote is on the verge of becoming a Lion. Foote, who was released by the Steelers this week, met with the Lions management and coaches today and was offered a one-year deal. He and the Lions have agreed on the contract value but were still finalizing the payment schedule and guaranteed portion of the deal tonight. "It's like 90% done," Foote said. Foote, who played for Detroit Pershing and the University of Michigan, is scheduled to take a physical for the Lions this morning.

My question is, was this the plan all along?

It certainly makes passing on Curry and Rey make a whole lot of sense...

It would give me a lot of hope that the new regime stands a chance...

no playoff checks, ever again.

The Lions may win a game next season.

You've got to respect the fact that they're loyal fans of their team, Chico. I know, I can relate. I'm a Browns fan.

Man is going home to try and help the team he grew up with and get more playing time. I for one say thank you for your service to the Steeler nation and good luck in Detroit

Good, Foote got what he wanted and can play for Detroit. Excellent news.

Great question. That would have made a great T&R article.

This is a good move Lions

Hate to see Larry go but he'll tremendously help out that defense . Can step in as the leader in the middle and give them something they've been lacking for awhile.

Classy comment by classy fan of classy franchise. This is a great story about going home and it's great for Detroit and their fans.

Detroit deserves a huge injection of good luck after the Milllen Holocaust.

Good move, Lions may actually know what they're doing for the first time in a while.

I like what the Lions did in the draft. They went after talented football players. Stafford was a given, most winning QBs in Superbowls were first round picks. MOST... Manning , Manning, Rothlesberger,....People only look at the ones that did not work out....Pettigrew is the best TE in a long time to come out of the draft....gooood move...get talent when you cajn...regardless of the position....foote is a great signing...Like Parcells always said, you are either getting better or you are getting worse, nobody stays the same...The Lions are getting better..
