28 year-old, 12 pts, 5 reb, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, 2 fouls, 2 turnovers. Those are honestly good numbers. If it's for Tayshaun Prince or Lamar Odom, I'll understand. But why trade him for a rookie?

AK's a good complimentary/role guy......
but somehow I don't see him ending up there

Those numbers are from a reserve role as well. I guess the Warriors need to see which pick they get first in this weak draft.

Why? The Warriors are already stacked w/ players of his position. Randolph and Wright are young guys who are beginning to show their talent. The Warriors need a legitimate center.

Solid player with experience but I do not see it happening. Agree with Guam Baller about the Warriors needing a Center. They definitely could use a legit 5 man and not Biedrins who has height but definitely isn't a center.

May 6, 2009  09:23 AM ET

Kirilenko can guard three positions, so I don't think he'd be standing in the way of Randolph/Wright's development, they'd play him at the 2/3 spot with Stephen Jackson. I think Kirilenko would fit well with the Warriors system, but I think that Utah would have to take Maggette back in addition to the pick in this deal. I doubt the Jazz want to be locked into him for another 4 years, $40 million. But you never know, because they'd save a bunch of money in the short term.

His career has gone down since reports came out that he wanted to go back and play in Russia, yet he is a great defender. Seems to be he just needs to get his mojo back, then he will be back to all-star form and if they can keep boozer, thats 3 all-stars.

I guess it's unanimous. Who's scouting for Golden State? Anyone with half a brain could look at the Jazz and see that Kirilenko and Boozer are a nice 1-2 punch. Utah needs a center. Why would things be any different in San Francisco? I also think this is an indication that Mullin isn't calling the shots anymore.

Both teams are headed south (as crazy as that sounds yes the warriors are going to be worse) so it really doesnt matter where the 15 million dollar for 11 pts a game russian ends up wherever he ends up he will be overpaid.....

May 6, 2009  11:06 AM ET

This not going to happen who would the Jazz be interested in

May 6, 2009  11:32 AM ET

Crawford if he doesn't opt out, or Corey.

Aint no way in hell Crawford leaves 22 mil on the table...

Don't see it happening. AK is a solid player but his contract is about as indigestible as the burrito I'm about to eat for lunch.

May 6, 2009  12:38 PM ET

Golden State for the love of God please take him, we will take anything. This guys is a cry-ass.
He thinks he has Jordans offensive skills, also he feels he should be #1 in offensive touches, like when he plays for mother Russia. This guys sucks monkey-balls.

the jazz are headed south? just like everyone said they would set the record for least wins in a season after stockton and malone.... The Jazz had one bad year (and they only went 42-40 or 40-42) Utah is a proven winning franchise. Chicago... Boston... NYK.... all have fallen very low after losing their starts... but not the Jazz.

AK47 is a good player, his problem is he had 3 better players (all stars) in front of him shadowing his numbers. besides, the dude can cover half the court by himself on Defense. Put him in the right system, and he can easily fill a stat sheet every night

May 6, 2009  12:50 PM ET

I think AK's numbers have been down the past few years because of Boozer. He's made more of a sacrifice than anybody to feed Boozer. One of the reasons letting Booz go and keeping Milsap is that AK can compliment him at the four. Especially as he ages AK will have a hard time keeping up with the quicker wings in the league. His height and shot blocking cry for more time down low. Obviously he isn't the offensive popst presence that Boozer is.

May 6, 2009  12:51 PM ET

This would be difficult to pull off. The money doesn't really work out unless the Jazz are willing to take on Maggette's contract which is for 5 more years plus Crawford's which is 3. I'd be more than happy to see AK go if Sloan remains the coach, it's obvious he's never going to live up to his potential given how much those two disagree on his role.

I agree AK is a good player. He just does not fit the Jazz system very well at all. He wants to be more involved with the O, and thats never going to happen. Also his D has been slipping becuase he wants to focus on O more. His D is what made him an All-Star not his O.

May 6, 2009  01:46 PM ET

Golden State could ask Minnesota for Miller and Boston's 28th pick...Mike Miller would be a helluva lot better with that team than AK47 since he can spread the D with his 3 point ability, not to mention he can rebound and pass as well...and with Miller's contract coming off the books next offseason even his contract is desirable. The 28th pick is nice since after the lotto all players from 18 into the early second round are pretty much interchangable in this weaker draft.
