Running back commits to ASU

Deantre Lewis, a 5-foot-10, 189-pound running back from Norco (Calif.) High School has given an oral commitment to Arizona State, according to Scout.com. Lewis, who was also being recruited by Oregon and Oregon State, is ASU's second commitment for 2010, along with running back Taylor Walstad of Chandler High.

On a happier note, I was on the Stanford campus this past weekend. Little sign of their fiscal crisis from the endowment's loss of value. It's a lovely campus. The chapel is awesome, and the stadium looks grand from atop the Hoover tower. Yes, Stanford actually celebrates association with "Chicken in every pot" Hoover. He was among the inaugural class at Stanford.
