06:12 AM ET 05.08 | Former Colts WR Marvin Harrison, now a free agent, said he has no plans to retire and that he wants to play in 2009, according to his agent, Tom Condon. The problematic knee that has limited some of Harrison's speed and overall effectiveness the past two seasons hasn't been an issue either, Condon said. There hasn't been much interest in Harrison at this point, but Condon said he expects his client to sign with a team close to the time that training camps open later this summer.

Pleeease come back Marv. I don't wanna see you in another uni.

May 8, 2009  07:08 AM ET

Who will waste the money and roster space on a washed up product of Peyton Manning? No way he could have put up those kind of numbers with any other team. Let it go Marvin and preserve your legacy.

May 8, 2009  07:20 AM ET

lots of people talked that Rice was done when he left the 49ers after some knee problems. WR are not like RB's and can play longer because they don't take the same punishment.

He'd make a good #2 (depending on the team) or #3 receiver. It would be a mistake not to keep him covered; opening up other passing opportunities. He may be long in the tooth, but he's not a disciplinary issue or prima donna - as far as I know - like so many of the younger kids coming into the league these days.

Hang it up Marvin. You cost us in the play offs you almost never show up in the playoffs its was reggie wayne. My suggestion for you graceful exit you have broken records and won a superbowl sounds like a golden career to me. You was drafted in freaking 1996 dont end up like Jerry Rice of Michael Jordan please man

Other than a few questionable shootings on his stoop seems like a class guy on the field. How many guys score and jog off the field? I'll take him as a 3rd receiver anyday as long as he is being paid as a third receiver and not demanding the Hall of Famer pay of 5 years ago.

I agree 100% percent. If a team like Atlanta that can win now were to bring him in as a safety valve guy, one extra weapon that defenses have to prepare for, why not.
I also would never tell a guy in his mid-30's to retire if he is physically able to perform--the shelf life of an NFL career is short and if he can go out there and make 500K a season, who can begrudge him of that solely because they feel that he has already had a good career. I say make your money while you can, you have the rest of your life to play golf, open car dealerships, etc and if that means leaving Indy, so be it.

Come to the Raiders Marvin, we just drafted a guy at #7 who can't catch...

I agree with your agree except DON'T LEAVE INDY!

This guy has off the field problems and from what i hear he is not a very nice person off the field. I can only see 2 teams he would fit in with CINNC OR OAK.

May 8, 2009  09:38 AM ET

Teams are gonna pick Harrison up I think right now they just need to know that he's not going retire and over the summer maybe as late as mid July I think he will get signed

May 8, 2009  09:40 AM ET

"according to his agent, Tom Condon. The problematic knee that has limited some of Harrison's speed and overall effectiveness the past two seasons hasn't been an issue ."...LMAO..So, his agent is also a doctor and the declining return on the field vs. the big money he was being paid is all ok now. Because as everyone knows, those injuries get better as you get older.. Well ain't that just special. .. He is not worth serious money, but that is what he will want. If Peyton Manning could not get much out of him the last two years, then some other QB can? Check his average yards per catch and you will see that it just is not there anymore..

Good call - I was going to say he WAS done when he left SF, until I looked it up and realized he went for 1200 yards per in 2 seasons with the Raiders.

He may have lost a step, but by all accounts he has always been a hard-working pro. He never had any real off the field problems that I'd heard of until last year, and name 10 starting WRs who've never had any problems and/or embarrassed their team. As for "nice person", meh, gimme a competitive hard-working jerk any day.
A team with young WRs or young QB would do well to sign him as a 3rd receiver, depending on his knee

true enough but the money is something he's going to have to come to terms with because not even Snyder or JJ is going to be crazy enough to pay top dollar for a #3 receiver.

I notice you left Al Davis out - I suppose you can't really type his name in the same sentence as "not crazy enough" without your computer crashing

May 8, 2009  11:20 AM ET

The J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS love washed up veterans who can no longer play. I say he ends up in NJ.

That is what your fire wall is suppose to save you from..Be sure to update your protection now the draft is over,,i did the smart thing, every time the Raiders were on the clock, I shut my computer right down..

He could play for the Philly Thugs at All-Prison State, catch passes from Vick.
