07:15 AM ET 05.08 | A teenager from Central Pennsylvania posted an Internet message threatening to kill Washington Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin, city police said Thursday. Lt. Kevin Kraus said investigators are taking the threat seriously even though the 17-year-old boy did not come to Pittsburgh for Wednesday night's playoff game between the Capitals and Penguins and is not expected here for Game 4 tonight. "I don't know his true intentions. We are taking it very seriously," said Kraus, who did not identify the Chambersburg teen. Investigators from the state police computer crime task force interviewed the boy but have not filed any charges, Kraus said. City police turned the investigation over to state police after consulting with the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office. Kraus said the 17-year-old wrote: "I'm killing Ovechkin. I'm going to jail. I don't care anymore." The message was posted on a National Hockey League Web site and then to the Penguins Web site, the lieutenant said.

Another Pennsylvania idiot.

From the looks of it, I'd say Ovie is killing the Pens. But wait, please don't throw hats onto the ice for Ovie's next hat trick. It upsets Cindy Crosby way too much.

I woner if Cindy paid the kid. Afterall, he must be incredibly jealous that Ovie is by far the better hockey player and more of a man than that whinny little brat.

May 8, 2009  07:43 AM ET

Did I mention that Pittsburghsucks?

May 8, 2009  07:44 AM ET

Yep, Pittsburghsucks.

May 8, 2009  07:45 AM ET

Pittsburgh is also home of the country's worst fairweather fans. Obnoxious when their teams win and the biggest crybabies when they loose.

May 8, 2009  07:48 AM ET

Classless, also. Last year after the Red Wings crushed the Pens, the Pen fans booed when the Conn Smythe was awarded to Zetterburg. They started chanting Crosby. What a bunch of classless, gutless losers. A total lack of respect.

May 8, 2009  07:49 AM ET

Yep, Pittsburghsucks!

May 8, 2009  08:03 AM ET

Funny, I was about to comment on who made the threats... I thought it was you, because Ovie might have slighted you, the same way Crosby did... remember, when he stood you up for dinner because he uncovered your plan? The Roofies? Remember that? aaaahhhhh... you remember!

May 8, 2009  08:18 AM ET

LOL dude....you obviously have some deepseated psychological problems that have not been addressed. Did your mother and father not hug you enough as a child? Are those repressed memories from your trips to Uncle Stan's starting to haunt your nightmares? Or the time you had a chance with the prom queen and failed to "rise" to the occasion? Our hearts go out to you, "PittsburghSucks"

May 8, 2009  08:39 AM ET

Pittsburgh does SUCK.

May 8, 2009  08:39 AM ET

If you knew anything about the incident, the kid isn't even FROM Pittsburgh. He is from Harrisburg or the Harrisburg area, which is no where near Pittsburgh (take a geography lesson). PA is a big state, and further, who gives a crap? They put extra security on Ovie. Game on!

Don't feed the troll!

May 8, 2009  08:55 AM ET

Pittsburgh is the PiTS

May 8, 2009  08:55 AM ET

What a joke, like the kid was serious. We have turned into such a society of literal ****.

May 8, 2009  09:02 AM ET

LOL......Pittsburgh has fairweather fans. If that's coming from a Caps fan, that's laughable.

I'm not fooled. This was LGP's doing. I know it was.

Could be.

On a side note, Ovie is about the upteenth athlete who has had a death threat made against him. I am not saying that anything should be taken lightly. My understanding is that he has more security put on him, etc. which is a good thing. But let's not forget that athletes (and famous ones) get death threats all the time. Again, not making light, but this is obviously a little punk a.$.$. who has way too much time on his hands.

Come on, shouldn't the kid know better than to say something utterly retarded like that in these times? The worst part is by giving him this press you have now inflated his oversized ego and provoked him to do it again. Why can't they just waterboard him in private, scare the heck out of him and film him peeing his pants. This way they can just blackmail him into not making silly remarks like that in public forums again. That will solidify the thought that his ego is in check, he becomes paranoid of people "watching" him and most importantly he isn't tempted to make another silly statement in order to gratify his ego.

I am confused. When you are talking ego, who are you talking about? The kid or Ovie?
