The Denver Nuggets saw Mark Cuban's apology. What they really wanted was to hear it come out of his mouth. Several Nuggets were skeptical about the sincerity of the Mavericks owner's online apology to the family and friends of Denver players over incidents during Games 3 and 4 in Dallas. The NBA said no punishments are plannned. "Matter is closed," league spokesman Tim Frank told The Associated Press via e-mail Wednesday. Carmelo Anthony, whose girlfriend, LaLa Vazquez, had to be removed from her lower-level seats in Game 4, said it was unfortunate that Cuban chose to deliver an apology to Kenyon Martin's mother via cyberspace. "Man to man, that's the way you should do stuff," Anthony said Wednesday. "You should approach anything man to man. But he did it. It's over with. We got no choice but to accept his apology."

Mark Cuban is good at constructing a team that gets 50 win seasons........not much else.....

actions speak louder than words.

cuban's a loser he should be banned like they did artest

It's unfortunate that Cuban wasn't at the game. He would have been there at the end of the game where both teams showed a lot of class and sportsmanship and they let bygones be bygones. Teams shaking hands and hugging at the end of a hard fought series is always good for sport. It's nice to see KMart and Dirk hugging and smiling and showing their respect for each other.

Its true ........... he is a punk and thug i have no problem with it. Theres so much talking going on during those games. You cant tell me his loud mouth mom wasnt talking sh)*

May 14, 2009  08:49 AM ET

And Martin has an issue with Cuban's apology because???

Martin has a history of getting into scuffles with fans and cursing them out and I wonder if he apologized to them "face to face" or "man to man"

May 14, 2009  08:51 AM ET

in the words of one my favorite movie characters Tanner Boyle(Bad News Bears) "you can take your apology and shove it straight up your arse!" Bye-bye Cuban and the Mavs!

May 14, 2009  09:13 AM ET

Give me a F'N break-
what is this a soap opera? - he apologized, whether it was
'sincere' or not >>>> give it a damn rest already-
why are we beating a dead horse?

May 14, 2009  09:23 AM ET

While I can understand what some of you are saying, and this needs to be over with......Cuban has no problem being upfront, and saying what he feels.....but c'mon, he can just apologize face-to-face? What he did was the equivalent to breaking up with his girlfriend by email, a real man wouldn't handle his business that way. This loudmouth fool needs to just man up, go to Kenyon, and say "I apologize." It would be over....but best believe that some of you would still have animosity. And to talk about Martin's track record....so what? That's his on court persona, it has nothing to do with his family, leave them out of it....quiet as kept, Cuban has no reason to talk to the opposing teams family.

May 14, 2009  09:32 AM ET

Carmelo Anthony isn't exactly the best moral compass to come out and lecture Cuban on how to sincerely apologize.

May 14, 2009  09:40 AM ET

Ok ok we all know that "Thug" is new, well not new code word for the N word towards African Americans, just listen to sport talk radio any station when they talk about an African American player who does wrong 'Thug" will come into most comments, another example is the News Media that old guy with the big head on Fox i think uses the term "Thug Rapper Luda" but when he cries about Eminem he does not start the topic by calling him "Thug Rapper" the term is from India about killers who would rob & rape & kill travellers. I dont recall Martin killing anyone? Cuban is a coward pure & simple. As for how upset Martin & other brothers are like Sir Charles it's very simple in most African American homes the mother is on her own & all you have is her if she passes you're an orphan so we take that sh@t on the real I'll break someone for even raising a voice towards my mom I dont care who it is Jesus, the Pope who ever they're getting a beat down word!

So apparently, addressing someone as "Fa**ot MotherFu**er" is acceptable to the NBA? Since there will be no repercussions for Kenyon Martin screaming that at mark Cuban. Cuban apologized for what he said to Martin's mother aftergame 3 and it was in the heat of the moment after his team was robbed by the referees. The fact that the NBA is not demanding Martin apologize for calling Cuban the FM term or for calling him a **** after that is evidence the NBA condones the term and the hate and prejudice behind it.

May 14, 2009  09:41 AM ET

Because people love to hate the Mavs. I have to ask though, who is really doing the whining now? It isn't the Mavs. We took our loss and moved on with class last night. The whining going on here shows no class on the other side.

The fact is that it was a rough series. Martin did a thug like move when he had that first flagrant foul on Dirk that was completely unnecessary. There were tons of thug play, bad calls and anger on both sides but it is over now. Still, you are going to have people whine no matter what.

The Blog apology was for Cuban, the was an obvious PR move.
True, a telephone call to Carmello, Kenyon or someone with the Nuggets would be the move of a sincere man.

You obviously don't know Cuban. The guy shoots off his mouth but typically he comes around when he realizes he did something stupid and he shows that he knows he did something stupid. As I pointed out on another thread where he said something about someone not even being able to get a job at Dairy Queen and then realized it was a stupid thing to say so he turned around and worked at DQ for a day. The guy is listed among the 5 best owners for a reason and I think the reasons given are true.

LOL, this is among many other things that flew from people's mouths. People want to pin point Cuban. He is the one who people love to hate and it carries on to the Mavs.

The Mavs and Cuban need to forget all this stuff and try to figure out how to get rid of Dampier for an upgrade and what they are going to do at PG.

He called her son a thug to her face. He should at least be man enough to apologize to her face. A blog is simply not enough. It's a starting gesture but honestly he does owe her a face to face apology.

He insulted KMart's mother to her face. The only acceptable apology should have come the same way. To post his apology in a blog is classless and cowardly.
