Mats Sundin says he has no regrets over his decision to play for the Vancouver Canucks this NHL season, but hasn't decided yet if he will return next year. If he does play again, money won't be the deciding factor. "It won't be a money issue, whether or not I'm going to play," Sundin, 38, said yesterday as the Canucks cleaned out their lockers. "You want to have a chance to win. "I am going to take my time to make a good decision this summer. Right now I wouldn't know ... whether I am going to play or not." The Canucks were eliminated from the playoffs Monday after a 7-5 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. It was the first time Sundin has played in the playoffs since 2005-06.

I loved the whole addition of pahlsson to the blackhawks team, but he wouldnt have had the factor mats sundin would have had. I would love to have him on our team. We are the up and coming star studded team, and its mats best chance to get a championship. (red wings dont need anymore stanleys)

Sports_Fan_19 is certain he doesn't care in the least until an actual decision is announced.

Summer's not even here and Round 3 of the Sundin Chronicles begins.......I don't know why I even went back to look but yes, it's The Toronto Sun.

Sundin and Brett Farve need to have an old fashioned duel.

NO-NO-NO! NOT AGAIN!
ARRGGGG!!!

And that picture looks as if he is saying YES, YES, Yes...I'm going to do it again guys...
THIS is not news! It is not rumour! It is a fact of life!
Please T&R, can it now!

If all he really wants is a Cup ring, why doesn't he just sign up Detroit for the minimum, then get the hell out of the headlines!

May 14, 2009  09:13 AM ET

It won't be a money issue eh? I've heard that before. Like when he said the same thing about a year ago, then spent 6 months trying to get the Rangers to pay him enough money that he wouldn't have to sign with Vancouver. The Rags failed, so he went west. Now he says he doesn't regret it? What is there to regret? He made $6 million or so to produce poorly and go home after a couple months' work. This guy severely tarnished his reputation this year - he may have been able to get over it had he played well, but he showed up out of shape and never recovered, hurting his team in the process. The Wings wouldn't take him under those circumstances, and I'd say its a safe bet that even after they lose Hossa this off-season, they won't be chasing a one-time class act turned selfish punk.

"It was the first time Sundin has played in the playoffs since 2005-06." I guess the Sun is tryin to devalue the futility of the Leafs, considering the last time we played in the playoffs was 2003-04. Smooth.

can we start a petition or something to stop the posting of the sundin rumors till he makes a decision..... you can put my name down twice...... at least they could have waited till the cup was hoisted...... but i guess the toronto media still has it hard for sundin...... let him fade into retirement

Oh god, here we go again. I wonder how Fopa's ankle is doing.

I heard Sundin is considering buying Nashville, moving them to Hamilton and then deciding if he wants to play for them, I submitted my story to the Toronto Sun, should be up tomorrow.
