The California Supreme Court on Monday ended the Raiders' long-standing lawsuit that claimed the NFL sabotaged the team's effort to build a stadium at Hollywood Park. The case dates back more than 20 years, when Raiders managing partner Al Davis accused the league of purposely not doing enough to help the team move from the antiquated Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to a new stadium complete with luxury suites.

Davis was represented by the venerable law firm of Kanwee, Screwem, and Hough.

They're now off their retainer.

About time the NFL beats the Raiders, who doesn't beat the Raiders? Oh i know, the Steelers and Big Ben. Steelers ****!

July 3, 2007  12:00 PM ET

Maybe now that the 20 year old lawsuit is finished, Al will throw away his 20 year old playbook too.

July 3, 2007  12:26 PM ET

hope al stays alive forever so he can keep running that franchise into the ground.

First, t it's always nice to here from Bucs fans. They started showing up sometime in the mid 90's...thanks for joining the party.

As far as the lawsuit...can Oakland sue the NFL to get Al Davis fired so they can actually get a decent team?

July 3, 2007  02:15 PM ET

Al needs to hang it up while he can still reach the hanger..

July 3, 2007  02:26 PM ET

been a bucs fan for 22 of my 28 years on earth, so don't roll up with a Johnny come lately with me. I went through 15 of the 22 years as the laughing stock of my buddies who switched from the niners to the cowboys to the packers with every other Super Bowl champ sprinkled in. If you ever see someone with a Vinny 1986 jersey and a Reggie Cobb 1990 jersey you can be sure that they are legit.

July 3, 2007  02:46 PM ET

Well, before you bash my Steelers, get atleast 4 Super Bowl rings...I won't require the one for your thumb (even though it took forever).

July 3, 2007  02:55 PM ET

Who cares AL is AL

July 3, 2007  03:04 PM ET

Like I have said before... GO BRONCOS!!! LOL

July 3, 2007  03:25 PM ET

The Steelers do have more rings, but they also have the most obnoxious fans in the NFL. I'm not saying everyone, but the one's that are bad are the worse. I'm pretty sure when the Bucs are a 75 year old organization we will have at least 5 championships.

July 3, 2007  03:58 PM ET

Obnoxious fans go to Philli, not Pittsburgh.

Al Davis is the worst owner in professional sports....period.

July 3, 2007  05:24 PM ET

It must be Steelers fans in Ohio then, b/c they are just as bad as Browns fans.

July 3, 2007  05:35 PM ET

"Al will throw away his 20 year old playbook too."

Now that is funny. I think Al has to go. I am not trying to make fun, but I really think his mental capacity is just a bit diminished over the past couple of years. An alltime great, but maybe past his time. I mean what the hell was up with that whole Art Shell hiring? And then he hires a kid who isn't even the best coach in his immediate family?

"Davis was represented by the venerable law firm of Kanwee, Screwem, and Hough. "

Ha. Another reason to question his sanity? I heard he tried hiring the law firm of "Earth, Wind & Fire" recently.

wow,,you've got to give the raiders props- they can manage to lose even in the offseason

July 4, 2007  09:39 PM ET

I wonder if Al still has the law suit pending against the NFL that has to do with other NFL teams having black jerseys too. And no, I am not making this up.

Worst team in the NFL huh? The last I checked 5 bowl appearances 3 rings. Hall of Famers galore. Am I missing something. Oh and as far as I am concerned until you win the Bowl you are considered rebuilding.
