The Washington football team reportedly received its ninth commitment for the Class of 2010 from receiver Tevin Carter of Santee Education Complex in Los Angeles. At 6 feet 3, 190 pounds, he fits the bigger receiver mold that the new coaching staff likes. He's also fast, running 10.81 seconds in the 100 meters at the Arcadia (Calif.) Invitational last month. He averaged 29.75 yards per catch last season (28 for 833 yards according to Scout.com, along with 11 TDs). Carter reportedly also had offers from Arizona, Arizona State, WSU, California and Oregon.

Impressive numbers.

My inderstanding is that they have a pretty good QB coming in next year, now they seem to be getting someone for him to throw to. A few kids who can block, a few more who can tackle and cover, next thing you know Washington will be winning a half dozen games a year. Good for them.

No offer from SC? Hmmmmmm.

He reminds me of Kitten... Are they brothers from different mothers?

My time in the 100 is considerably less. But that may be due in part to the fact that a few years back I started measuring my sprint distances in feet rather than yards or meters. Was an age appropriate adjustment.

I calculate my time in the hundred in terms of freefall from the aircraft door. At my current age (and body mass), it's milliseconds faster than when I started skydiving years ago.

Newton says it's not your body mass. Must be increasing skill.

When do our west cost buddies start chiming in with real info about this kid and about Washington's FB team in general? 8:00 - 8:30 their time?

Mountain Time Zone reporting for duty, sir!

That time's for 100 meters. For 100 yards that would be, um, 134.2 lb seconds.

It's time to go metric! Let's say you are a morbidly obese 450 lb coach at Notre Dame; in the metric system you are a svelte, head-turning 205 kg.

My time is even better because I am driving.

Thanks for turning self-deprecating humor into a backhanded compliment. Appreciate you.

Based on some of the amazing ridiculous numbers that you see in recruiting, perhaps your adjustment are being used by the younger sect.

Time to change the record Bubba.

Traffic lights here have started a countdown to when the signal's gonna change, rather than just the walk/don't walk stuff. It's handy, but sometimes you get smacked in the face with the thought "10 seconds - I used to cover about 85 yards in that time, now I'm wondering if it's long enough to scurry across a 50-60 ft wide street". Kinda depressing.

What is Santee Education Complex? That sounds like a juvenile prison.

So it is like an auction, goes to the highest bidder? I didn't know that.

It will be interesting to see who pulls their program out of the crapper first, if either of them. Being that they're both from the school of Carroll.

Kiffin has the better program right now, but Sarkisian has less competition, so it should be fun to watch.
