Miller interested in Heat
Point guard Andre Miller has interest in the Heat if the 76ers don't keep him, an associate said. But unless he takes the $5 million midlevel exception, that would require a sign and trade -- something Miami would not do if it meant cutting into 2010 salary-cap space.

Now this would be a very good scenario for the Heat if Riley agrees to it.

Miami already has an up and coming point guard in Chalmers... plus Miller is too old and probably and injury away from retirement anyways... but knowing Pat Riley I won't be surprised if he gets a 3 year 30mil deal...

I like Andre Miller. I know there are a lot of teams with cap space but I would say that he's getting more than the mid level exception to sign anywhere.
So I'm going to rule out Miami.

I think there are more teams out there that would want Andre Miller on their teams. He'll get more offers and he could pick. If I were a coach I would love to have a player like him on the team. I'm not a big fan of his, but he's a good player.

I like Miller, and he's a good player, however I do wonder about a backcourt duo where neither can shoot the three effectively on a consistent basis.

Too old??? He averaged 37 Minutes a game last year. He was the leading scorer on the team in the playoffs W/ 22 PPG, 5 rebounds & 7 dimes
Do you know how much Chalmers could learn from Miller in a season, might be perfect for him.
He has played all 82 games the last 2 seasons He has actually played every game in every season something like 7 of the 9 years he has been in the league
Andre Miller is the best Free Agent PG in the league this year (besides the headache that is Allen Iverson), Miami would be extremely lucky to get him, but he is gonna get paid this contract probably in the 7-10 range.

Teach the children Dawg. Miller to Miami makes since. That means Riley will never do it. Miller would brake his run of dumbass decisions.

I mean don't get me wrong, I think Chalmers will be solid with another 2 years under his belt, but he averaged like 6 or 7 points in 33 minutes a game in the playoffs.
If the heat had Miller they would have easily advanced to the second round.

I agree. Chalmers is young and will continue to improve, but at this point the Heat would have fared better with White Chocolate.

Look the guy will be 34 next March. That's like a Ford Taurus with 200,000 miles on it. Now tell me how much y'd like to pay for it. Hey Pat Riley - it still runs great! Let's get him and Jermaine I have Bad Knees O'Neal in the starting lineup.
Mark Cuban's blunder of trading Devin Harris for Jason Kidd should be a timely warning... and Miller's not even better than Kidd was at 33.

I would gladly pay Andre Miller 20 Million for 2 years to run my squad. And some team is going to probably give him that much, he is worth it. 16 PPG 7 ASS 5 REB who can efficiently run my offense with only 1.5 turnovers a game. No doubt
This isn't going to be a trade, so the whole Devin Harris situation doesn't even apply.
I could see the Heat or even the Bobcats doing as much as possible to get this guy. If your a team that needs a PG, and don't have a top 10 draft pick, I would swoop him up in a second. He's a guy that after you signed him you wouldn't have to worry about point production, or ball distribution from that position.

well 20 might be a little high, but 14-17 for 2, and if I was the Bobcats GM I would pay even more.

I'm glad you said Portland. I was going to say it, but wasn't sure if people were ready for that...lol
Yeah your right, there are going to be a bunch of teams interested.

Man, can you imagine how good Portland could be with Miller.

True, they do need a Lamarcus Aldridge long player. But lets face it. The Heat NEED scoring over anything else, and someone who doesn't commit turnover, or takes bad shots.
Some of those Heat playoff games were brutal to watch cause you never knew where the scoring was going to come from.
