Jonas Gustavsson, a Swedish goalie considered one of the best in the world not currently playing in the NHL, has narrowed the list of NHL teams he'll consider playing for next season. The Avalanche is one of them, and former Avs star Peter Forsberg said Denver is just the place for him. Other teams on Gustavsson's short list include Toronto, Dallas and San Jose.

Let's see...

What is the Lanche's biggest need right now?
Toronto could use this guy as well.
San Jose? Think this guy will start over Nabakov?
Dallas? Ditto San Jose.

Can't right now. I'm busy.

He will go to the Avs or Leafs, the other 2 teams have goalies.

Agreed, and I am hoping it is the Leafs.

If he's the best goalie not playing in the NHL, that makes him the 31st best goalie?

Malkin was once labelled as the best player not playing in the NHL and that didn't make him only 601st best player in the world.

I doubt that therre are only four teams interested, unless he`s really not that good, because a good percentage of teams would never turn down the chance to ink a 'potential starter'.

I first heard about this guy about a week ago. There were about 25 teams interested, and these 4 are his "short list".

O, how I hope he comes to Colorado. If Patrick Roy takes the coaching gig, then it's a done deal. Even if he doesn't, I still think that Colorado has the best shot. Like has been said, really only Colorado and Toronto need goalies of the four. I wouldn't discount Peter Forsberg's influence. He's a DemiGod over in Sweden. We'll see what happens. It's been awhile since the hockey gods smiled on the Avs.

I can understand the leafs but, they already have 4 goalies. Mind you, non of them have worked out very well. Maybe this kid will be the answer for the leafs the way Toskala was supposed to be.

True dat about Peter. He could take a dump in the middle of the Nation's Capital building and receive applause for doing so. He could be the deciding factor in this one.
