It is official, NOW he is a Raider.

July 5, 2007  08:44 AM ET

can the NFL go a week without a bad story about at least one of its players? Doesn't seem to be as big a problem in the other big sports...

July 5, 2007  08:53 AM ET

SMOKING THAT WEED PROBABLY !!!

July 5, 2007  09:15 AM ET

Yeah, probably had a blunt or ten. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

July 5, 2007  09:18 AM ET

Those NFL tests should just stick to performance enhancers, IE steroids, hormones, uppers etc. Why should they even care if their players smoke weed? So does half the american population (not saying I'm in that half, just saying... er, ahem)

July 5, 2007  09:32 AM ET

He's just trying to fit in with his new fans!

July 5, 2007  09:35 AM ET

Mr. Rhodes? Ricky Williams on line two....

July 5, 2007  11:52 AM ET

Rhodes could have went down as a hero in Indy for what he did in the Super Bowl, now you just don't know. It's too bad athletes put themselves in these situations to have what they accomplish on the field diminished. This isn't 50 years ago, people are just as interested in what you do off the field as what you do on the field. He even starred in the "I'm going to Disney World" commercial after the Super Bowl when everyone assumed it would be Peyton. I wonder if anybody wants that one back.

ANOTHER DUMB ****...........WHEN WILL THESE STUPID NFL PLAYERS LEARN?????? He is a great role model. I just hope this guy is out of the gene pool.

Hey, if Peyton beats his wife it will be on C-SPAN, CNN, CNNSI, ESPN, Larry King, BBC, ABCDEFG, you name it.

July 5, 2007  04:00 PM ET

I BET HE WAS SMOKING SOME CHRONIC WITH RICKY WILLIAMS, DANG AM JEALOUS!!

July 5, 2007  07:16 PM ET

What a shocking bit of news! The Raiders sure know how to pick high integrity players. Very High.

July 5, 2007  07:25 PM ET

Im speaking on behalf of the Raider Nation when I say that Rhodes 4 game suspension will not hurt the Raiders in anyway. Rhodes is at best a good spell HB.For those that are stupid that means backup. We have Lamont Jordan, Justin Fargas, ROOKIE mICHEAL Bush who is gioing to be a beast when healthy..We are going to alright....For those that are cracking stupid Raider jokes... All i haveto say is come to the Colliseum and talk your **** . You will leave in an ambulance...especially You Chargers fans....we have more Fans in your San Diego than you do...even when you guys are winning...Thats pretty sad.

July 5, 2007  07:51 PM ET

Uh Lupe, I think you just confirmed the stereotype that Raider's fans are lowlife thugs.

July 5, 2007  08:41 PM ET

And Lupe proves once again WHY we make jokes about the Raiders and thier fans being low-life thugs.Raider games on Sundays is nothing but a field trip for the state jail.

And as for the guys that say the NFL shouldn't worry about players doing drugs of the non-performance enhancing type, they should worry. These guys are paid a lot of money by the owners. They are essentially an investment, and the owner (and NFL) has every right to know if they are doing these drugs so they can be cleaned up or gotten rid of.

Look at the headache Ricky Williams has caused the Dolphins.I don't think owners want to go through that, and the league wants to avoid the black eye it causes.

July 5, 2007  10:19 PM ET

Yeah, I actually like rooting for the Raiders, but they're lovable losers, even when they're winning. They have a longer history of dirtball players than any team in the league. I choose to view it with amusement, but I definitely see why some view it with disgust.

July 6, 2007  09:25 PM ET

Lupe take a pill or go smoke something and relax.

July 7, 2007  10:28 PM ET

I hope Justin Fargas takes advantage of the situation and is productive in the time he sees during the first 4 games. He is more explosive than Jordan and unlike #34, he isn't shy when it comes to contact. To all you charger fans, you really can't say a damn thing because the star of your D was on ROIDS. If merriman played for us he likely would have gotten suspended for the remainder of the season and if not he definately would have not made the Pro Bowl. RAIDER NATION 4 LIFE ! ! ! !
