Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel talked to Dan Patrick during the latter's radio show today. The coach said LeBron James told him he could have played football for the Buckeyes. Tressel said it would have been mostly fade routes to the wide receiver.

He'd be trying to ressurect his BBall career somewhere in Greece.

Looks like he's going to have some time soon after the Magic finish them off. Maybe he should go back and try football out.

He should have eligibility right?

Shaq did play center @ LSU. Just in bball, not fb. And I am pretty sure Shaq would have been a great red zone option as a non-blocking tight end, rather than hiking the ball.

I don't think LeBron would have been able to meet the tough academic requirements at OSU.

Enough freakin Lebron talk, annointed since he was 15 years old to be the chosen one....who cares, when a basketball title first and then you can have some accolades. He hits one regular game-winning three pointer and the media will not let that shot go from their minds! Majic Johnson saying that shot put him with the all time greats of the game...really? A game-winning three pointer does that? Then I guess there about 2,000 all time great players. Don't get me wrong, I think Lebron is an awesome player and will be one of the best ever and is very likeable too, but the way the media can't stop going all over themselves about him, drives me silly. ESPN should change their name to Lebron, Manny, AROD, Kobe, Shaq, Dwayne Wade all time channel.

I would love to see Lebron as a tight end for the Buckeyes. Just keep him away from any of Maurice Clarett's friends!

May 27, 2009  10:53 AM ET

One hit from a OSU linebacker would be enough to send LeBron retreating to the safety of the bball team.

May 27, 2009  11:01 AM ET

lebron was a very highly rated wr in high school before he quit after his junior year. i think he would have done just fine in college, had he chose that route. i gotta believe he's not regretting that decision any. and i still wouldn't count the cavs out just yet.

You do realize that Lebron James is upwards of 285 lbs right? Considering he was the number 1 football prospect the year he went to the NBA I'm sure he would hold his own against the geriatric speed that is the Big 10.

At 7'1....330lbs - he better be blocking someone. In fact, he would have been a lineman.

Oh...and that comment about the "center in bball" was buffoon-like
