Georgia is among the six finalists in the running for Tampa Catholic quarterback Christian Green, who likely will convert to receiver in college. The Dogs are fighting with Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Ohio State and South Florida for the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder. Hiram Green told the St. Petersburg Times that his son had narrowed 30 scholarship-offering schools to six because "he had to narrow it down to something."

"Tampa Catholic quarterback Christian Green, who likely will convert to...Scientology, changing his name to Dianetics Green.

he narrowed because he had to narrow it to something? ok.

I was thinking the same thing. Reminds me of the old military saying "hurry up and do something even if it's wrong."

The good news...if he's converting to receiver the schools on his (new) short list will serve him well.

Christian Green? And Richt is a "good Christian man"? I think we know where this one is going, folks.

Urban will just send Tebow down to meet with him, and Christian gets the benefit of becoming a better person...it's a win/win.

Got a weird feeling this kid goes to F.S.U.

May 29, 2009  12:23 PM ET

anybody think south florida actually has a shot of landing this kid?...i don't.

Teams in the running for Tampa QB, I'm just glad this story isn't about Robert Marve.

I thought he de-committed from Purdue already or something

Unless I am misinformed, Richt and Tebow aren't Catholic. Usually, evangelical protestants aren't instant best buds with Catholics.

May 29, 2009  01:20 PM ET

Tennessee certainly has the most need for a QB currently, out of the six schools mentioned. I'm still hoping for Andrew Hendrix or Jake Heaps to choose the Vols, though.

Other than each group saying that the other is hell-bound, I don't know of any particular animosity.

doesn't a national championship forfeit all sins?

May 29, 2009  01:32 PM ET

His Parents went to Michigan and although they are not on here they are pursueing this kid with intensity!!

May 29, 2009  01:33 PM ET

Hes VERY HIGH on FSU so that is where he will probably end up!!

May 29, 2009  01:57 PM ET

He's E.G. Green's cousin so I've got my fingers crossed he comes to Tally. Watch him play a few times and he's electric.

Georgia is a program on the way down...mark my words....That D Coordinator is going to get Richt fired. In 2 years when Tennessee is back and if Urban stays at Florida, Richt will be done, especially if he remains loyal to his bad D.C. Loyality is what got Fulmer fired in K'ville.....
