Nothing has been formally announced, but the Edmonton Oilers will lock up Russian defenseman Denis Grebeshkov, likely for three years at a shade more than $3 million a season. Grebeshkov could be a prime candidate to man the blue-line for Russia's Olympic team in Vancouver in 2010 after winning two straight world championship gold medals.

sold. I'd take this guy at $3mil per season for sure. How old is he though?

25. Here's a trick, click on the guy's name in the story line if it's red?

I hate it when $3 million seems like a good deal. It just seems wrong on a lot of levels.

I'd buy that for a dollar.

He is a really good player with potential to be a great player. Lock him up at $3 million a year for 5 years.

Look for a deal similar to Gilberts, just with the hit being 3 mill instead of 4.

Strudwick, Brodziak, Reddux, Schremp, and Roloson will all resign for one-year deals between $750k and $1 million.

Cogliano and Gagner will both get long term extensions that are similar in structure to Gilbert's.

The primary goal for the off season though is to leave enough room, where the Oilers can sign Bouwmeester and another goalie (Scott Clemenson maybe?).

Great signing, Grebeshkov played consitent throughout the season and could be a future star in the L

yes but the oilers need someone behind roly as Delaurious was very inconsistent in the rare times he played. One game you would think hes the next Roberto Luongo then the next you think how is this guy in the L?
