Two Currys impress Knicks boss

Knicks team president Donnie Walsh's past two days have been a tale of two Currys -- one player too heavy, one too light. But right now, Walsh is ecstatic about both Currys -- Eddy and Stephen. Before settling into Chicago for the NBA Draft Combine, Walsh took a side trip to Detroit on Wednesday to visit Knicks center Eddy Curry, and gave Curry high marks after watching him work out. The 7-foot, 300-plus Curry is on a rigorous summer weight-loss program in the Motor City, training at Oakland University to save his career.

What number did Knicks get in Draft?

Just one more season...i wonder who will bite at their free agent money? The players they have now aren't much to entice big names to go there.

are they going to send him to a california specialist to suck the fat and lard our of his body

Eddy Curry should go on the Biggest Loser....................

Seriously I think this is a ploy by Walsh to sell Knicks tickets or drive up Eddy's trade value if there's such a thing. Eddy couldn't have lost that much weight in such a brief period to look impressive - heck the season is not even over. Secondly he hasn't played NBA basketball in two seasons so he will need summer league and preseason to get his timing and wind back. Personally I won't believe anything that has to do with Eddy Curry and good basketball unless I see it with my own eyes... he was never a rebounder, passer or good defender anyways so what's there to hope for?

Also you can't possibly be D'Antoni's friend if y're not a three point shooter so I don't think he's part of the Knicks long term plan. David Lee has added a facet to his game every year so I won't be surprised if that's what he's working on this summer. I'm more curious about how Danillo is doing cos he has all the tools to excel.

No comment on Stephen Curry cos with rookies you never know.

Walsh has finally figured out if I'm gonna trade this guy I've gotta say something positive about him.

There is no way Walsh is trying to butter up people to trade Curry. Because of his history of weight issues and lack or production and don't forget his hefty contract to match his weight, Curry isn't going anywhere and Walsh knows it. All Walsh can really do is help Curry understand this is a make or break season for him. Thanks again to the Knicks for taking him off the Bulls hands and giving my Bulls some draft picks in return!!!

the knicks big concern is that Eddy will eat Stephen after the draft so they're working feverishly to make him understand he can't eat their draft pick

"Knicks team president Donnie Walsh's past two days have been a tale of two Currys -- one player too heavy, one too light."

That is classic....lol

PLEASE stay away from Steph-
he's a BACK-UP shooter....there is NO REASON for a bad team
to take him in the top ten- he will serve NO PURPOSE

May 29, 2009  09:36 AM ET

What did the big Curry say to the little Curry?

May 29, 2009  09:36 AM ET

this has to be a ploy for some other team to pick him up in trade or something. i don't care how much weight he loses he won't every have the heart to be successul in the league.

and even though i've enjoyed watching stephen light it up in college i just don't think he's a needed fit with the knicks.

May 29, 2009  09:37 AM ET

Do you think Curry is going to try and pay "Worldwide Wes" for gay sex too? Oh i know... the Knicks will draft little curry so big curry can have a spinner to play with. Both Currys suck... little curry looks like a 13 yr who still hasnt gone through puberty. Too bad the nuggets wont trade their entire roster to the knicks. thats the only thing that will save them.

Only problem is that not one owner believes a word they say about Curry. You only come off looking like a loser when you praise this fat arse piece of sheut.

Stephen Curry will become a star in the NBA. Hopefully Golden State will have taken him before the Knicks get the chance to sink their claws into him. Eddy Curry will continue to be what he's always been--a fat, lazy, no defense playin,' non-rebounding non-factor.

I find it amusing that someone calling Stephen Curry a 13 yr old is a Nate Robinson fan.

Makes sense. You don't change a lifetime of a lazy approach to life in a month.
