A league source told SI.com Friday night that the Philadelphia 76ers have reached an agreement in principle with former Washington Wizards coach Eddie Jordan to take over as their head coach. A formal announcement is expected to come over the weekend.

I don't see how hiring a coach that lost to a Knicks team with only 7 players is anything to celebrate. He still had Butler and Jamison... plus he's too much of a nice guy to deal with the snakes and egos in Philly... they will be new Phoenix... aka WAITING TO EXPLODE.

Now if only Philadelphia can handle this offseason correctly, they could be a playoff team again.

I like the hire-
he did a pretty good job in Wash- considering all the injuries.
He's a LOT better of a choice than Doug Collins

Seems to me you cleared a parade route the last 2 times you went to the finals; only to discover the actual parade was taking place in another city. Have you not learned anything?

I've learned that your only mission in life is to hate on the lakers. You can live in the sun or the clouds... ask arejay for the weather forecast in LA.

eddie is a good coach and a good hire for philly but with him or not they are still the 6th best team in the east....or in other words a 1st round exit for 2010....

Grumpy little Lakers fans, everywhere, everywhere, but not even one to reason...

An average coach for an unfortunately average team... oh well, you can always hope for and underdog run once in the playoffs.

And for the LA fans, congrats on getting to another final. I thought denver was the better all around team and should have won the series but again Kobe did his thing. I have no problem with LA fans arrogance, win you have a team consistently winning you can be that way.
