09:00 AM ET 05.30 | Suns star Amare Stoudemire discussed his future Friday. Besides questions about recovery from his damaged retina, Stoudemire addressed his career down the road. From February trade discussions to his ability to opt out from his Suns contract next summer. To one in Atlanta, where he just visited, "They would love for me to be in Atlanta," but adding, "I still should be in Phoenix next season." To a D.C. radio station, there is a "50 percent chance" he would be with the Suns this fall.

If they can do a Josh Smith to Amare swap, we'll take him. Please also take Mike Woodson along though LOL

Josh Smith would be a good 4 for the Suns' offense, but giving up Amare for Josh Smith is just unfair, like you said.

after watching the playoffs this year and seeing how good some of
the young guys really are.....Amare betrer stop taking and WATCH
how these guys have turned the light switch on and are actually
TRYING to play DEFENSE......cause if not whatever team he ends up
with is going to have a VERY expensive guy sitting on the couch
come late May & June- cause you can't win in the playoffs unless
you play DEFENSE

Both don't have the mental capacity to be winners-
(IMO)

How would Stoudemire and Horford play together?

lol-
All Amare cares about are $$ and dunks.
he could care less about anyone else-
Horford though - is a player who 'gets it' he can play with anyone

Good point. The fact that it is now popular to talk about and practice defense is good for the NBA. Now if we can just get the refs to stop calling flops and touch fouls we might actually see a decent league again...

I get a strong "Cut The Check" vibe from his comments. He seems like a mercenary.
Maybe in a couple of years he will smarten up and want to be second fiddle to a superstar and win some rings.

man i like amare but i wish he would just stop saying stuff like this. we need to keep him, wait til shaq and nash are gone, and i do love both of them as well, and then sign another star player and sorround he and amare with goons like houston has done for yao and t mac. the only problem is, unless stat brings up his intensity on defense, we still won't have a leader because we know he doesnt want to be the 2nd player on a team. we just need some defenders man!

May 30, 2009  01:06 PM ET

gosh and amare for josh smith? are you stupid?

May 30, 2009  01:08 PM ET

I wouldn't mind if the Kings swapped the #4 pick for him. They still have a first rounder later on (24th?)

Until they actually win the NBA Title it's all theory. Kobe is good, but he still hasn't won it all with the BIG FELLOW. The only certainty is that Kobe really wants to win another NBA title without the Big Aristotle.

I agree. Amare is going to have to change his whole philosophy in order to make a difference (look how Carmelo Anthony has started to evolve). As a Suns fan, though, I think it's time to move on. I feel that Amare has pretty much given up on the Suns, like Shawn Marion did, and I would honestly like to take on somebody with a stronger defensive work ethic, and also somebody that can actually stay healthy through the stretch run.

NBA FINALS

LAKERS IN 6!!!!!!!!!

who cares?
seriously, Suns are not going anywhere anytime soon. Even if Amare decides to stay.
I think they should just get rid of Shaq, Nash and Amara and start all fresh and rebuild it over time.
Leaving any of these guys in they are just delaying the process. They are over.
