Thunder trading down for Curry?

Oklahoma City has a Stephen Curry fixation. The Thunder attended all of Curry's home games at Davidson this past season and is looking at him as a potential shooting guard. But they'll almost certainly move down from the No. 3 pick if they decide to take him.

Durant's offensive game will be huge next year, looking at their players, they shud have massive cap room soon?

June 1, 2009  08:26 AM ET

Getting Curry can be good or bad defending on OKC's system. If they get Curry then they can really spread the floor. The problem is that there is only 1 ball to go around. Durant and Curry are volume shooters. They can get Curry and use him as trade bait. I guess they are not sold on Thabeet.

that would be perfect donnie walsh needs to get on this.

June 1, 2009  09:01 AM ET

lol...keep adding scorers & forget about Defense...great philosophy
- at least if this is true he'll be off the board for the knicks-

meaning to move up to get Thabeet ?
YES- that would be a smart move

we screwed up in not going for Lopez- yes Hllywood said so-
- if theres a chot in getting Thabeet- it would be a great move
for a team that is DESPERATELY in need of defensive players

It's no secret that I really like Curry-- but to Oklahoma City? Oklahoma screwed up last year by taking Russell Westbrook instead of Brook Lopez. This is how you become 23-59. Westbrook did a good job for them, What leads them to think they will change their fortunes with Curry. With no man in the middle, expect more of the same...or worse.

June 1, 2009  09:37 AM ET

This Curry thing is getting ridiclous... he's just another Telfair with a shooting touch. He will be a bust unless he plays in NY cos our system makes guards look real good...

June 1, 2009  09:37 AM ET

If they take Curry I will laugh my ass off.

BTW...I still do a double take every time they say Thunder instead of OKC.

I go - "there's a team called the Thunder?!!!

In all earnesty Danillo has more talent and is better suited for the system in place... so it was the logical thing to do... nobody can predict health but I think we'd all agree that he'll be a star when healthy...

June 1, 2009  09:43 AM ET

Not sure Oklahoma City is the right place for him. They would be better off getting the big man in Thabeet or at least a bigger SG in James Harden.

I'm not knocking Steph Curry since he seems to be in play for so many teams but I just don't get what the fuss is over him. I don't see him as a great player in the League. He'll be serviceable and maybe a good glue guy but he's not worth the fuss that he's being shown right now.

Au Contraire Grasshopper--Curry is beginnig to generate buzz because he's good. Telfair? Hardly; Think of an unselfish Allen Iverson.

With all due respect, I do not look at Steph Curry and see an unselfish Allen Iverson. I don't see Sebastian Telfair either but Allan I?

No.

I can't say he'll be a 'star' yet-
I do think he can be a productive player- maybe even a
toni Kucoc talent that does a little bit of everything.....
but just like people already calling him a bust-
calling him a 'star' is WAY premature

don't let hllywoods propaganda sway you.....lol
Steph is just as you think-
He's basically jim paxon-
you don't draft jim paxon with a top 10 pick-

You don't know how glad I am that these comments are coming from someone I expect to be around awhile. We will have this conversation again. In the meantime you may want to get some hot sauce for your crow.

Can I at least get Jameer Nelson?

QUOTE(#16):

to be honest- No

Jameer is a TRUE pg- he has the mindset & is more athletic/
stronger, though granted he is shorter......
Steph is a shooter, a 2 guard that you play him at point and
his whole purpose is wasted.....because he has to distribute

June 1, 2009  10:46 AM ET

Ben Gordon but less selfish?

Curry will pack on the muscle once on an NBA training regimin, happens to every NBA rookie as long as they put in the effort, and Curry seems like the kind of smart and level headed player who will definitely put in the effort

I like my food spicy. So I definitely have hot sauce on hand, but I won't be needing it for Steph Curry.

I can give you an unselfish Ben Gordon. I can give you that.
