Boozer or Deng to Raptors for Bosh?

Although Carlos Boozer could be headed to Detroit in a free-agent deal in July, there's a chance he'll end up going to Toronto in a package for Chris Bosh. The Bulls remain interested in Bosh, but Luol Deng would have to be part of a package going to the Raptors. The Raptors, privately, are acknowledging for the first time that they might need to trade Bosh, rather than risk losing him to free agency in 2010.

If this is true Bulls make this deal now. I don't want to hear about Tyrus Thomas and upside he will always be a better athlete than basketball player. You get Bosh and sign him to an extention and get back to being in the mix for the Eastern Conference.

There's already too many bars in Chicago. They don't need more Boozers.

Chris Bosh is thaaaaaaa Man, Boozer...not so much.

Now Thomas is a trade they can use for Bosh. The problem is that Tyrus is not even mention. Bosh and Thomas have the same position and both are athletic and young. Thomas is kinda coming to his own after this year. He now has an outside shot and he probably needs to continue to practice that in the summer.

If im the Bulls, this is a no brainer, you do this now...Deng has stagnated, and is showing no more improvement. Bosh is arguable a top 5 big man in the league ( even though he is a bit soft ).

i wouldn't mind getting boozer or bosh...or kamen or stoudamire. how about a sign n trade with ben gordon and tyrus for any of those guys?? let's say we come away with bosh and stoudamire (or kamen) and lose deng, gordon and tyrus (and maybe noah)? i'd be down for that.

How about this moves ?

- Boozer signs as FA with DET

- DET gets Chandler & Peterson (NO)
They adcquire the interior defensive and rebounding presence they are lacking since Ben and a good 6th man.
- PHO gets 1st pick (WAS) + 1st pick (NO) + 1st pick (DET) + Hickson & Wallace & Gibson & three future 1st picks (CLE)
They accomplish a huge cut on the payroll since Ben would retire and be bought out (at least half price) while getting two good young pieces and 6 picks to build around. Plus they get even more payroll flexibility to do further trades (like Barbosa) and to pursue significant FAs by the end of 2010 with Shaq and Nash expiring contracts.
- WAS gets Amare (PHO)
They finally form the perfect "all offense trio" and they would not get bothered by Stoudamire lack of defense, since nobody on that team knows what that is.
- NO gets Songalia (WAS) + Amir & future 1st pick (DET)
They obtain the dessired huge paycut while getting 2 young big talents.
- CLE gets Jamison (WAS) + Tucker & Dragic (PHO)
They obtain another constant offensive threat that can rebound and shoot from in and out, plus they get to play West and Varejao of the bench and play them with their best suited positions.

- MEM gets J. Smith & Morris (ATL)
They obtain the player they wanted last year as a piece that fits well into their playstyle and lineup. Plus they still have ton of room to improve their roster with the available payroll.
- ATL gets Gasol & Milicic & 2nd pick (MEM)
They gain to play Horford on his best suited position and a deep frontcourt with Gasol and the decent Darko. Plus long term payroll flexibility and they get rid of a player that doesnt get along with the coach.

I don't see how any team will want Deng and his huge contract... not to mention he's coming off a major injury... even Isiah in his left mind won't trade for him. But I see where the Raptors are coming from.. nobody likes to stay in Toronto so there's a chance they'd loose out on Boozer and Tyrus Thomas but Deng already has a long monster contract so he'll be in for the long haul... oh canada!...

June 1, 2009  08:49 AM ET

TOR has ton of space so they could:

1. Sign Turkoglu as FA
2. Resign Marion as FA
3. Sign Gordon as FA
4. Sign Artest as FA

Trade the 1st pick for Jefferson (MIL) or Terry (DAL) or Boozer (UTA) or Kaman (CLI) or Maggette or Crawford (GS). If they want to improve by making moves, they can do it just because of their available cap space.

HUH ?
-why in the world would the raps want to take on Dengs LARGE
contract ? He's not that good & is obviously grossly overpaid
- that would KILL them in the long run if they ever wanted to
actually sign players through FA

June 1, 2009  08:58 AM ET

This thread is from the New York Daily News. They don't even know what the Knicks are doing. How are they privy to Utah's plans for the future? What sane person would accept Deng for Chris Bosh. If the raptors agree to trade Bosh, they can certainly get more than Luol Deng for him. I doubt there's any truth to this.

salmons is doing a bteer scoring job then deng did for the bulls, maybe deng needs what chandler got in new orleans, a change in scenery, the bulls should explore this move, bosh could be the final piece of thier jigsaw and i'm sure gordon would love to resign with them after they land bosh

there is no argument he's a top 5 forward.....22 & 10
and he isn't soft.....he averages TEN BOARDS a game-
you don't average that many boards being soft.

Cleveland should sign Boozer (again), and get rid of those two European Stiffs starting in their
frontcourt, Flopper, and Slow Man Walking.

This is dumb....if Cleveland gives up that much, do you seriously, in your right mind, think they would do it for Jamison (old), Tucker and Dragic????? Dumb. Idiotic. Stupid. Worst. Speculative. Post. Ever. Thank. You.

Common misconception.....Raheed Wallace is never called soft, yet he doesn't rebound block shots, and he plays out on the perimeter. Maybe it's because he yells at refs. Bosh is not soft....don't get his weight distribution and body size messed up. Wallace, in my opinion is softer than Nowitzki. At least Nowitzki does everything he possibly can on the court. He just needs not SAY he's soft!

because he has a long contract.. and if u are a NBA star the last place u want to sign a long contract with would be the Raptors... "canada" lol

I would prefer the Raptors keep Bosh but talk to him and line up possibly sign and trades. So if things don't work out, then deal him. However, they should start the year with him.

June 1, 2009  09:39 AM ET

NBAers have to be some of the most uneducated, vile human beings on the face of the planet. MLBers and NHLers all love playing in Toronto, see Roy Halladay (the best pitcher in the world spending almost 10 years on a bad ballclub and still pullin hard) and once upon a time even that clown Clemens signed in T.O. Who would EVER want to live in a nice, clean, safe city where these guys don't have to worry about making a wrong turn and having their Lambo jacked by two idiots with guns? Enjoy Southside Chi Bosh.

Actually the NBA writers from the NY Daily News are pretty good when it comes to analyzing what other teams do. I agree that they are off on the Knicks but I am sure there is truth here.

Anyway, I doubt Boozer ends up with the Raptors but if the Bulls do want Chris Bosh it would make sense for them to get him and they have the pieces to do it.
