Will Jordan make time to run Bobcats?

The Charlotte Bobcats just went on the market, so it's still too early to tell whether Michael Jordan is going to be a serious buyer or will just kick the tires. Jordan, the team's top basketball exec, has the connections to put together a group to buy the Bobcats from Robert Johnson. But Jordan also has a track record for blowing hot and cold on deals. League insiders also don't know if he will be willing to put in the time to run the team.

The Bobcats record hasn't been terrible, it just hasn't been good.

If they are lucky , he will put up the money, and then get out of the way. Does any team out there really want Jordan running a team? Not what he does best, or even all that well.

If I was a Charlotte fan then I don't want Jordan to buy the team. If Jordan hasn't put time as top executive then he might be worse as an owner.

has there ever been a MJ-GM related posting where his Airness doesn't get ragged on?

June 1, 2009  08:43 AM ET

MJ has sucked as a GM. i don't think his heart is in it now that he can't suit up anymore. he'd rather be golfing and chasing tail.

Amen! If his record to this point is any indication of what we can expect, I hope he finds something else to do with his money.

How is Jordan gonna make time?

He needs to share the secret with the world cause I could use a couple hours here before getting the day going too.

Jordan isn't going to make the time or put the effort together. I'm not really sure why MJ is even hanging around the game since all he has done since his retirement is put in a half-hearted effort into his basketball ventures.

he's hanging around so people won't forget that he was the
most successful marketed athlete ever & can still get a
commercial or 2

jordan needs to come back to the bulls...

Does this Mitch Lawrence from the New York Daily News, work for T&R or is T&R just lazy! : 3 T&R all from same article in the paper : Boozer or Deng to Raptors for Bosh? : Thunder trading down for Curry? : Will Jordan make time to run Bobcats? And all 3, have NO more info or facts about the T&R story at the Daily News

I just answered this question on the Steph Curry story but all three posts came from the same NBA column in yesterday's New York Daily News.

Actually most of the Monday stories on T&R's come from Mitch Lawrence's Sunday column.

i think jordan would be good if he were to be an owner. but i hope he gives the role of drafting and trading for players to someone more competent.

This would mean that the wife would own half of the Bobcats also. Maybe Jordan should finalize his divorce before buying the Bobcats.

Good luck Bobcats

I'm hoping for sarcasm here. His divorce was sooo two years ago!

so would I .......rich,admired,healthy,talented,smart,desired by women, popular and single who would want to spend their last years in their prime all day running a franchise that will never be more than a 8th see in the East and a 1ST ROUND SWEEP AT BEST....cmon anyone that is honest would say F@#$ THAT I AM GOING TO GOLF IN THE DAY AND PARTY WITH MODELS IN THE NIGHT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!!

June 1, 2009  04:23 PM ET

the bobcats have turned things around under their new coach...don't count them out yet
MJ just needs to go away....the people in Charlotte are tired of no shows and more attention on his golf game than the bobcats

Jordan is good for the team and becuse he requires professionalisim , I believe the Bobcats would be a threat in the east. Hell, it is Charlotte North Carolina and they have Michael Jordan, that city should be happy especially with how Jake Delsuck performed in the playoffs throwing all those interceptions in the playoffs this year.
