Georgia has self-reported six secondary violations of NCAA rules this year, three of them involving the football program, according to information obtained from UGA under open-records laws. The violations, reported through May 31, have been resolved to the satisfaction of the NCAA and SEC, according to Eric Baumgartner, UGA's assistant athletics director for compliance. One of the football violations involved four UGA players receiving complimentary tickets to an NFL game from a friend playing in the league.

Now Lane has to up his game and commit a few more so we can stay in the lead on secondary violations. Get back on twitter!

Ok, that was pretty funny! Good sense of humor with your coach.

News is slow right now....I dont think the NCAA should place such strict restriction the what the players can do...you almost make it seem like the players are slaves to the university they choose and must put in their time for 3-4 years before they can live again!

GO GATORS...and yes VOLFANHENRY...funny remark! Should be interesting in the swamp this year!

I saw a quote that talks about a football team and it says:

Talent=7 wins
Talent/ Discipline=8-9 wins
Leadership (and the other 2)= CHAMPIONSHIPS

it was pretty cool!

If it has already been reported and resolved to the NCAA's satisfaction, why make such a big deal out of it???

Not towards any school but how many secondary violations can occur before the NCAA begins to really get on your case?

152,286.5 secondary violations in a 12 month period = 1 major.

Tons of minor violations without a single major is commonly referred to as the Bob Stoops effect.

That works out to more than 417 per day. UGA is safe, for now.

The SECondary violations conference?
Gosh. free tickets to NFL games for players. That's not even remotely as severe as demonstrating an Orange smoke machine to recruits, or (gasp) mentioning a recruit's name on an internet site. Next thing you know, Auburn will get a Toomer's Corner Toilet Paper violation or something.

June 3, 2009  10:31 AM ET

Just barely. It's rumored that they self-report only 1 in 1000...

Yeah! Gosh! Darn it! Bloody pampered student athletes should buy their own TP! If they steal it like all other students, well, that would be a violation requiring disciplinary action. That could hurt the team and the reputation of the university! Fork out the dough for that tissue, you full-scholly cheapskates!

You're missing the bigger issue with Toomer's corner. How are the locals wipping their dung stained arses after a win?

Yes. Today, I am too easily diverted by the little things...

And why would you be so concerned about that?

The only thing the AJC has ever been on top of is the trash heap. Their reporting is spotty at best $h!#y at worst.
