John Brown, a former Florida defensive linemen currently at Northeast Mississippi Community College, committed Wednesday to Tennessee coaches. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound Brown, a highly-regarded Florida native, left UF this spring but planned to return to the Southeastern Conference. He plans to arrive at UT before the 2010 season, with two seasons of eligibility left. "It is my goal to win a national championship while I'm in Knoxville," Brown said. "Coach (Ed Orgeron) is the best defensive line coach in the country, and Coach Monte Kiffin is the best defensive coordinator." Several members of UT's eight-member, defensive-line-heavy Class of 2010 commitment list have made similar comments about Orgeron and Kiffin.

I just snarffed my coffee.

Looks like UT is still trolling the streets for Gator refuse.

Well lets hope he can get out of JUCO first.. The classes are tough... Guess UF didnt want him back.. He was a good player at Lakeland High which is a Gator school.. I think they had 7 kids sign with UF that year.. Rainey and the Pouncy twinz

One of the Tennessee booster's bank accounts must be a little lighter this morning.

Maybe this kid can ride home on weekends with New Keys Richardson.

The title of the story was a bit scary. It made it sound like TN's coaches are perverts!

I guess that fits, though...with the bare-chest fetishes and all!!!

I'll hazard a guess that he didn't take his studies seriously enough during his first months at UF. Bad move because the initial grades are the foundation for college career GPA. One can start in a hole or atop a hill. Brown might have seen the sides of the hole and bolted for JUCO, hoping to build a base for another chance at FBS glory and, ultimately, the eyes of pro scouts.

Their defense is straight, it's the offense that needs the weapons. Being a father of a teenage son, I wouldn't send my kid to play for Lane Kiffin.

I would send my kid to play for Monte however.

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. That's why this hire is really intriguing, when it goes bad, do they fire son and keep pops?
