A recent New York Post report that Carlos Boozer has told others he'll play next in either Detroit, which has salary space to absorb him, or New Jersey, which would have to pull off a sign-and-trade to acquire him, and other reports suggesting the Pistons may now be more interested in Paul Millsap than Boozer.

The Pistons ship has sunk. It is time to re-build from scratch. Signing free agents isn't going to fix this one.

June 7, 2009  09:17 AM ET

Good! Would much rather have Millsap than Boozer.

June 7, 2009  09:19 AM ET

This would mean that Maxiell is on the way out I presume.

June 7, 2009  09:52 AM ET

Boozer along with Lopez and Devin Harris could be very interesting, but none of these stories have much merit at this point. A recent New York Post report that Carlos Boozer has told others...What's that suppose to mean? And who is the Deseret News?

Boozer's basically saying you can find me wherever the money is at... but they both come with considerable risk... Millsap only had 1 good year... no one knows the type of player he'll be once he gets the money... Boozer on the hand has a proven injury record....

lol....guess you've never heard of Rip & Tay before ?
they are ONE player away from becoming a serious team
again and they will be getting that player this off-season.

Boozer immediately makes either team significantly better

the Nets have been looking for a low post scorer since
Derrick Coleman......
and as I just wrote above- Boozer would make Detroit an
instant contender again- with all the pieces they have
(if they can find someone to clog up the middle)

June 7, 2009  10:37 AM ET

Carlos Boozer would be better for them at this point...maybe obtain Kaman from LA as well. Then this team could actually be talked about as a playoff contender.

June 7, 2009  11:11 AM ET

Finnally we agree Denis24 ...

- DET signs Boozer (UTAH)
- DET sends Amir & Sharpe & future 1st pick for either Chandler (NO) or Kaman (CLI)

Instant conference semifinalist along CLE-BOS-ORL

And I agree with you too my friend !

Detroit is not interested in signing Millsap because he already plays for them under the alias of Jason Maxiell. They don't need two undersized power forwards that do the same thing. They should definitely go after Boozer. If Millsap was that good, Sloan would have kept him as the starter when Boozer came back at less than 100%. Oklahoma should also go after him with their cap room. Boozer's post game would be a nice addition to a dominant wingman (Durant) and an explosive point guard (Westbrook).

If New Jersey signs Boozer, he'll just interfere with Lopez' development as their primary post player. They need an athletic, hustling power forward. An athletic power forward would also give Harris more passing lanes, and fast break opportunities. Pops Mensah-Bonsu is available at a bargain price.

Yes, we know the Pistons are interested. That's old news.

I agree with your comments on DET & NJ, but I dont think he fits in OKL. While he is a better player overall they have Green there. What they do really have to get is a SG or a C.

Maybe go hard after Turkoglu or Ariza and after Chandler or Kaman.

Isn't Millsap a young player? He could be a good piece to start the Pistons rebuild

June 7, 2009  01:25 PM ET

boozer or milsap, go to the cavs and win a championship

New Jersey had Kenyon Martin, but they let him go..

ok buddy you know I agree almost with all you say, BUT when you say serious you mean same as this year right a first round and done playoff team right???...because if its anything else even with Rip,Tay and a Milsap/Boozer whatever addition, they arent even close to being better than the top 4 teams in the East not to mention the West, I say that because Boozer,Milsap were together in Utah plus they had Deron Williams/AK 47 are just as if not better than Rip and Tay so IMO they might be a 6th or 7th seed maybe even a 5th but wont get past the first round...not young enough, not deep enough,pg is overrated, rip and tay arent as young and quick as they were 3 to 5 years ago, plus milsap/boozer add frontcourt help but they still have ways to go....

June 7, 2009  02:31 PM ET

Boozer has always just been about the money imagine Cavs fans if he would have stayed in Cleveland.

June 7, 2009  03:03 PM ET

boozer is going back to cleveland!

June 7, 2009  03:04 PM ET

boozer back to cleveland? I bet he wishes he never left.
