Cox sends Braves SS message

06:55 AM ET 06.15 | Braves manager Bobby Cox conjured up memories of benching a young Andruw Jones for loafing in center field when he sat Yunel Escobar after Escobar made two key mistakes in the field Sunday afternoon. Escobar failed to turn a double play in the first inning and botched a rundown in the second inning -- two plays that ultimately cost the Braves four runs in an 11-2 loss to the Orioles. Coming on the heels of Escobar's miscue in Wednesday's loss to the Pirates, Cox had seen enough. He replaced Escobar with Diory Hernandez in the bottom of the third inning.
