Cowboys tell Romo to shape up

08:03 AM ET 06.16 | Word from Valley Ranch is Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett had a come-to-Jesus meeting with QB Tony Romo this off-season where he basically told him to get his butt in better shape. Now nobody is accusing Romo of being Val Kilmer, or even Byron Leftwich. The description used was "bottom heavy" and the message was more "We love you but... " than butt kicking. What The Redheaded Genius told him was, basically, become a better finisher. Cowboys coaches believe Romo has a penchant for showing up for training camp in just good enough shape to allow him to get out to a good start in the first half. And it falls apart in the second half because he does. He is not able to outrun the same players. His mistakes go up. He is not the same QB.

He should take a tip from Cowboys of the past and use an opiate supplement to lose weight

The gist of the conversation seems to be:

"You suck, get better."

MIAMI -- Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth has agreed to plead guilty to a DUI manslaughter charge and would do some jail time for a Miami car crash in which a pedestrian was struck and killed, authorities said Monday.

Stallworth, 28, is scheduled to appear Tuesday in a Miami courtroom to enter the plea. If accepted by Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Dennis Murphy, Stallworth would serve a short jail sentence for the March 14 crash, followed by lengthy probation and numerous conditions, Terry Chavez, spokeswoman for the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, told The Associated Press.

Stallworth had a blood-alcohol level of .126 after the crash, well above Florida's .08 limit. He had previously pleaded not guilty and Lyons initially pledged to mount a vigorous defense.

But Stallworth has also has cooperated with investigators and issued a statement shortly after the crash expressing sympathy for Reyes' family.

"He's shown remorse and taken responsibility from day one," Chavez said.

June 16, 2009  08:24 AM ET

First they rag on his girlfriend's weight, now his?

June 16, 2009  08:26 AM ET

Romo should pop a viagra at the half. It will get the blood flowing and give him stamina.
Heck, defenders won't even want to touch a guy sportin' wood on the field!

I heard that Romo has been working a lot with Roy Williams and it has looked less than impressive. Hopefully for their sake, they can better establish the run game to take pressure off Romo. Still not sure if the Cowboys have the leadership to take them to the next level.

Maybe they both suck? The Cowboys only gave up a 1st and 3rd and 6th for Roy and got Roy and a 5th in return. I've said it before and I'll say it again, when you get out-smarted by the Detroit Lions, time for a management change.

Nah, tell me it ain't true, falls apart in the 2nd half of the season, really. LMAO
