Knicks covet Hill over Curry

The Post has learned Knicks president Donnie Walsh has secretly coveted Jordan Hill, the 6-foot-10 big man whom they would take in a heartbeat over Stephen Curry. Walsh told confidants that after the draft order was established he thought a better chance existed of Hill slipping to them. That's because some teams picking before the Knicks weren't in the market for bigs. There have been recent reports Hill was slipping, but chances still are Hill will be gone by No. 8.

I can't see why the Knicks will select a big man unless they have a deal on the table for David Lee that brings back a solid point guard. Portland... maybe? or Memphis for Mike Conley and Darko Milicic... that deal will have to include Jared Jefferies...

yawn....

No dont trade Lee for anything that brings Darko back...I agree, that we should get rid of jefferies...he has no offensive game at all

It's just a smokescreen so that they get Stephon Curry. Whatever happened to their other big man in Renaldo Balkman? LOL... The Knicks need more then big men. They need a lot in every position.

June 16, 2009  08:28 AM ET

What the Knicks need is a center...somebody like Marcus Camby from the Clippers. They could possibly offer Chris Duhon, Jared Jeffries, and the #8 for Marcus Camby.

C - Camby
PF - Harrington
SF - Chandler

Their guards however are TERRIBLE, that's the problem.

I think Eddy Curry is behind it...

I mean now were getting into some troubling decisions
Hill?
he's 'slipping' - what does that tell you?
um- that he's going to be another chris wilcox- who we HAD
and who stinks.....

so if the choice is Hill or Curry.......whoa- I gotta think about that one

Smart money says neither Curry or Hill will be available at #8.

Yes only a rumor, I like it. Let me be clear. I don???t like Jordan Hill!

This is likely only a smoke screen, but hopefully the Knicks are finally trying to address a real need. Anyone that does not think the Knick need help down low has not been watching the games. Jordan Hill is not the answer, BUT NEITHER IS DRAFTING A PG. Hopefully the Knick will not take Jordan, but take another BIG!

Again, there will be no deals for LEE on draft night! Lee has a qualifying offer. Knick can do a sign and trade in July, but not draft night!

If this true!!!!!!!
I like the idea, just find someone else!

Jordan Hill would replace David Lee but I'm not too comforted by the fact that he looks to be another coming of Chris Wilcox. Especially considering that Wilcox is already a Knick.

As much as I have been bagging on Steph Curry, I'd rather have him then Jordan Hill.

So would you rather have Chris Wilcox or Adam Morrison? Thats what you have here.

Agree with the need for bigs-
but disagree regarding needing a pg-

Honestly- we need ALOT- including a pg
- other than Thabeet & BG- there are no other top tier bigs available in the draft....

so they should go for a player that has the best UPSIDE
I personally think they chould go DeRozian- if available

June 16, 2009  10:31 AM ET

another jefferies no offensive skill at all! why do they like guys with no offensive skill? just another rebounder

Zactly.

This guy is better than Jefferies, but as jgb said Derozan has the best upside.

Actually we agree! I think the Knicks need a PG, without question. I just think the most glaring need is help down low, in the point. There is a super highway going down the lane for the Knicks. We don???t have the personnel to out score anyone so defensive stops should be the focus!

When Mike got here he said he would run a system that matches the players skill set, Mike is running the only system he knows (Euro ball) without the players.

Again I don???t want Jordan, but I like the idea!

I see we have an educated voter.

Camby? You mean Father Time? I'd almost rather get Ewing out of retirement!!
Camby stunk with the Nuggets 2 years ago when he played weakside defense but nothing else. Oh, except for those errant top of the key jumpers that always disrupts the offense...
At least go after someone with a few years left in their legs.

That would be a good pick if Senile Donny pick him,but that surely isn't what Mike D'Andumbie would want.Who is running the team D'Andumbie or Senile Donny? If the Knicks don't address their lack of defense and the low post play they will lose more games next year than they did this year
