Timberwolves forward Kevin Love said on Twitter that Kevin McHale will not return as coach next season. In an update posted early this morning, Love tweeted, "Today is a sad day ... Kevin McHale will NOT be back as head coach this season." Upon seeing the posting, a person in the league was told McHale sent a text message to Love indicating he was not coming back.

It would be funny if Kevin Love was wrong, but I am guessing if he went so far to "twitter" then it must be true.

Of course I am being sarcastic, because it is beyond ridiculous that the media is using twitter as informational sources.

the worst kept secret since deciding who was the #1 pick once LeBron declared for the NBA draft.

Can we please confirm this was an actual Twitter account for Kevin Love and not some 56 yo man from Tuscon, AZ... lol

Have you ever seen CNN?

Ofcourse he's done. He helped rebuild the Celdics...what else is left for him to do in Min?

June 17, 2009  11:17 AM ET

Is this really a surprise to anybody? They took all McHale's juice, replaced him with the owner's 'yes man,' gave him a list of their choices for his assistants, and now are saddened by his leaving. Puhleaze

This will be a might blow to the Celtics, losing the coach of their top farm club.

useless thread...

Can you say "about f'n time". Has anyone with such a high position within an organization, done less for a team? Mchale is the Al Davis of Minnesota, he never stops f'n up. Lucky for the Twolves he's not the majority owner. Things are already looking up for the Twolves, because frankly things couldn't be much worse. They are a laughing stock Franchise, which Mchale could eat most of the blame for. Had KG and couldnt put pieces around him, so he trades him, and look what happened when KG had pieces around him. Championship! He is a detriment to any team.

The hypnotic spell McFail cast on Glen Taylor finally wore off.

as wolves fan let me clear up one misconception.......that mchale just gave away kg......given that everyone in the nba knew wolves had to trade kg, i actually was impressed with what they got in return.......al jefferson, plus a couple contributing role players, a couple expiring contracts and a couple draft picks......

that said, mchale was terrible in front office. with possible exception of knicks i don't think there has been a worse run franchise in the league the last 10 yrs.

Now that the McHale era is actually over, I wonder who the T-Wolves actually hire as head coach. Not a lot of huge names out there.

The funny thing is that the T-Wolves have some young pieces and a ton of draft picks over the next 2 drafts, so they have a serious shot of putting something good together. It's a building piece at least.

the team has no shot at winning
- no reason to hire a big time name......

I'd put a call into Lambier-
he's so desperate, he'd come on the cheap

Would you rather have the crap you have now for KG, or Bynum and Odom? This was a possibility and a better choice, but he is in idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It actually worked out real well for the Laker's, cuz in about an hour the Championship Parade Begins BABY!!!!!!

to be honest-
I'd rather have big Al- (hopefully he can come back)

Al's arguably the 3rd/4th best center and he's YOUNG-
& center is the hardest position to fill in the league

bottom line is it wasn't that deal that was the problem-
its the fact that he did NOTHING ELSE
