According to an NBA source, super active Minnesota Timberwolves GM David Kahn has offered Mike Miller to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Chris Kaman. The Clippers shot down that trade, but countered with Marcus Camby.

Who in their right mind would make that trade. Kaman is a true center while there will be some confusion in the front line cause Griffin isn't a 3 neither is Randolph. But it looks like a nice front line.

Miller for Camby would still be a good deal. Then you could move Al to the 4 where he would dominate more and have Love be the first big man off the bench. Camby comes off the books at the end of the year so you'll have money then too. Miller played like he didn't have a pair this year anyway, constantly passing up open shots to the point where some people in the T-wolves organization were calling him out on it. It's not like he'd really be missed.

The Clips should keep Camby but Miller for Camby isnt that bad a deal. It would give the Clips a shooter, which looking at that roster is something they do not have.

Anyway, the Clips need to move one, if not two, out of their Camby, Randolph, Kaman rotation.

Camby is the one who should/will b moved
an expiring contract is a valuable contract-
especially on a guy that can contribute defensively from
the center position

Not sure why a mediocre team would want miller though...

I don't get how this helps Minnesota...they already have Kevin Love and Al Jefferson...they need guards. Maybe Mike Miller and Randy Foye for Kirk Hinrich and the #16? Then with their 4 1st Rounders they can draft Tyreke Evans, BJ Mullens, Terrence Williams, and Victor Claver who they can store away until he is needed. They could have a really young and potentially good team. All these guys are young and if they grow together.

PG - Kirk Hinrich, Sebastion Telfair
SG - Tyreke Evans, Terrence Williams
SF - Ryan Gomes, Rodney Carney, Corey Brewer
PF - Kevin Love, Craig Smith
C - Al Jefferson, BJ Mullens

Camby's contract does make him the easiest to move but for the same reason is why I would hold on to him if I were the Clippers. I know it's damn near impossible to attract a free agent to the "other" team in L.A., but to have 10 mill or so in cap space might not be a bad idea in the free agency class of 2010.

I'd take Camby over Kaman or Miller any day of the week.

Miller is an Expiring Contract too : and Miller at 6'8" would be the 6th/ 7th man : backup to SG/SF for SG Eric Gordon, SF Thornton

but forget teh expiring part, Miller is simply not that good.
I'd rather have too many bigs - cause SOMEONE is going to get hurt

Its smart to try to get rid of Camby, and possibly get something back, rather then get nothing at the end of the season. Camby did absolutely nothing last year, and got paid a ridiculous amount of money to do so. if you can possibly get a guy that will at least contribute this year, its better than nothing. All in all, I am a die hard Laker Fan, but you cant help to cheer for the other local team. Clippers future looks bright. Gordon, Thorton, and Griffin is a really nice young trio moving forward for the Clippers.

I think Kaman is more expendable. His talents are more replaceable especially with the pick of Griffin at number one. Camby could be a great teacher on defense to Griffin. Wouldn't want to trade him away just yet.

June 23, 2009  11:31 AM ET

If I was Camby or kaman, I would volunteer to be traded.

June 23, 2009  11:41 AM ET

At least, that's a start for the T'Wolves. I think that it is a good thought, cuz' with Kaman at C, Al can move back to PF (he was a PF at first, right?). Then he will have exert less energy and exact less pressure on his knee. Love can come off the bench for now. But if they are really serious about getting Kaman, they have to do better than Miller, though.

VOlunteer to go to Minnesota? You do know that's where the Wolves are, right?

When you come to think of it, Camby for Miller isn't that bad at all.

Right, because Minnesota is lighting up the NBA right now. Let's see, would I rather play for a perennial loser in Minnesota or LA? Wow that's a tough one...

Yes... they have a better chance to get wins but if you are talking about social life.. I would pick L.A... but why do you think BAron Davis want out and he is a wanna-be spike Lee.

Good for them. The Clippers have 6 guards on the roster now. Why would they give up Kaman for another guard? I've always liked Miller but this makes no sense at all.

I agree with you if this was fantasy basketball, but unfortunately it's not. Moving Camby makes much more sense as he's got an expiring contract which is something that every team wants. Keeping him does the Clippers no good since they're not going anywhere this year and they're going to lose him to FA after the season anyway. Kaman is a young C who is signed long-term to a reasonable contract. He's the one the Clippers need to keep as part of their rebuilding process.
