If im the Celts, I dont give up on Rondo...he is in that class of PG's right behind derron Williams, and CP3

Winning drives up the value of players including the scrubs too so it becomes difficult to keep the group intact that's why the Lakers are in such an enviable position. Ainge needs to man up and make some bold moves.

When your top guns are that old interchanging parts won't get you far so start rebuilding now! This might sound ludacris but if you get rid of Garnet, Piercer and Ray Allen now you will be able to keep Rondo and obtain younger stars that will make Boston a competitor for years to come. If you hang on to them too long y'll soon be like Phoenix.

Boston asks for Detroit's entire nucleus in exchange for an expiring contract and a PG who looks good only because he plays with the big 3....?

This doesnt make any sense for Detroit. How does this help them now? How does this help them land bigger players in the future. This would be a move that left them looking to buy the entire 2010 free agent class. I'm not sure you want to put all your eggs in that basket when you have to compete with Miami, the New York teams, and the money the home teams can give.

This is tough. The Celtics want to get better and younger without messing with the cap space. Rondo has been heard to be a to a tough guy to get along with. Allen is getting older, still great. I just see the lack of depth really hurting the C's. We need a good rookie and some guys like Walker and Pruitt to step up. That way they will need minimal help to win another Championship.

The Pistons would have to be stupid to make that deal....

I find it comical that this article will get huge number of comments from Boston fans, all thinking this was a feasible deal, ignoring the other teams in the mix. Detroit immediately reject this. This is a KEY sentence in the article because the trade offer was ridiculous. This isn't EA Sports or a fantasy league...

I don't think you get rid of any of these guys...they have at least 2 more runs left together...and what young guys are you getting that will replace them and make them a competitor?
