Teams asking Wizards about Butler

About half of the teams in the league have spoken with the Wizards, according to a league source, and most of those discussions have revolved around their No. 5 draft pick. Some teams, though, have also asked about the availability of the Wizards' top players, with most focusing on Caron Butler. Multiple sources have confirmed that the Wizards engaged in conversations with the Phoenix Suns about acquiring all-star forward Amare Stoudemire last month, but the talks stalled when the Suns demanded Butler. Another league source added that Golden State and Portland have also attempted to land Butler, but President Ernie Grunfeld hasn't budged.

Agreed. The Wiz got to keep Caron. Whether they keep the number 5 pick or not, they need Caron to go with what they are building.

I like what the Wizards could be next season if they stay healthy. It's a big IF though.

Why did the Lakers give this guy away...for Kwame Brown?

Cos he plays the same position as Kobe who doesn't like in-house competition. Don't forget he forced them to trade Eddy Jones as well and I'm sure Shannon Brown is on his way out. Since both Eddy and Butler are All Stars karma says Brown will turn out to be good too...

The thing about Caron butler is how reliable he is. Plus, he has a pretty affordable contract considering how good a player he is. I really think with Gilbert finally healthy, the Wiz are going to have a great year and will definitely make the playoffs.

Brown will be roplacing Fisher in a few years. Butler is SF then a SG which is what Kobe is.

Jamison is the piece that needs to go and everyone knows that except for Gilbert.

You call a bunch of kids in college real competition? Playing against seasoned pros in Spain and Europe is real competition, not playing against overhyped and underskilled children whose claim to fame is some bizarre tournament dominated by four or five schools.
Oh, but I forget: you're one of those Americans that forgets that the US couldn't win any international tournament between 2000 and 2008 against what you think is not "real competition". And even in 2008 the mighty US just about managed to scrape a win against crappy Spain in spite of having the very very best players in the NBA.
American dominance is fading away: in basketball, in politics, in economics, in culture. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Great a loyal Spaniard!! This is a basketball site and my points are about basketball! I am not trying to be sensitive to Spanish head cases ****. However, you maybe right about American dominance. The best example is Spain and Europe! Once world powers but Spain has suck-ked every since the Spanish Armada sank before getting to the English channel. Also from 2000 to 2008 they were all running my presidents bath water and wiping his nose. I could go on forever about politics and economics but again this is a basketball site, not CNN! I have a blog at the times! Come there and I will expand your **** for you!

Now! About your competition point! You have your opinion. It is not shared by the majority! So okay thanks for your worthless information! If the quality of basketball was so great over there, so many would not fail playing here, in the US!

My points about Rubio are from a basketball standpoint only!!! Don???t be so sensitive! Sweetie! I think you do okay in soccer! Well I think!

I was asking the same question when I was at the Wizards - Lakers game this year. He was killing L.A. in the second half. But all in all it worked out for the Lakers.
