Will Knicks keep Lee, Robinson?

The one-year qualifying offer to [David] Lee was about $2.7 million and [Nate] Robinson about $2.9 million, based on the rookie salary scale. If they do not sign with another team, or come to terms with the Knicks, they can accept the qualifying offers and become unrestricted free agents next summer. Lee, an energetic rebounder, is coming off a breakout season. The Knicks seem determined to keep him, provided it does not jeopardize their salary-cap space in 2010. A handful of teams with cap space this summer - including Detroit, Portland and Oklahoma City - could pursue Lee and push up his price. "I think there will be a lot of interest," said Mark Bartelstein, Lee's agent. "There's not many times a guy at his age and his productivity gets to the market." If Lee's asking price becomes too steep, the Knicks also have the option of orchestrating a sign-and-trade deal. Lee has said he prefers to remain with the Knicks. "I think they want to keep him very badly, but they've got different dynamics they have to deal with, their plans for 2010 and all that," Bartelstein said. "We just have to see if it's doable."

they're going to lose him mess'n around with trying to free up Cap space. 3 seasons thrown away trying to get LBJ. I think once LeBron resigns with CLE the knicks should move to Toledo so they can still get a whiff of him every now and again.

David Lee is strictly a contributor--he would look good on the Spurs.

It would be nice for the Knicks to at least keep David Lee but he's going to get some good money somewhere.

Nate will probably walk.

Spot on!! Lee has earned it. If Walsh thinks he can keep Lee on the cheap, he's worse than I thought, and that's piss poor.

I like David Lee a lot. He can fit into anything because of what he brings to the table. Too bad he has been playing for the damn knicks so long. He'd be a good fit for the Celtics...

BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH Why does anyone really care what LeBron James does, except for Cleveland? I cannot understand for the life of me why the league is allowing itself to be held hostage wondering what a man who has done nothing yet is going to do. Although I would like to see him in a Knicks uniform, what am I supposed to cry if he doesn't?

It seems to me that the chances are slim that LBJ will end up in NY, but they are even slimmer that he will remain in Cleveland. Poor people don't even want to live in Cleveland. Do you really think a young, superstar, filthy rich athlete wants to reside in that hole??? Lets keep it real.
