Jordan's son giving up basketball
One more Jordan has put his basketball playing days behind him. Jeff Jordan, a two-year reserve point guard at Illinois and the son of former Bulls great Michael Jordan, has decided to leave the basketball program to focus on his academics. He does not plan to transfer, according to a statement Illinois released Wednesday.

He truly was in a no-win situation playing basketball. Just making it onto a D1 team is a huge accomplishment for any player, but when your last name is Jordan you are expected to do more.

You are an idiot. You are just one more example of the self righteous **** who write on these blogs. You write something like this as though you have the moral or intellectual weight to analyze this young mans life. You are a loser.
Mr. Jordan made an adult decision not to continue playing a childs game when it became obvious that he would not make a living out of it. He decided to focus on something more important. This should be applauded.
There are way to many out there "practicing" when they should grow up, get a job and contribute to life.

I agree with his decision and with all of the business opportunities he will have with his dad, he will surely have a great future. Maybe he will be the GM of the Bobcats someday

Why is there pressure? Did anyone on Earth expect him to be the next MJ? No.
He plays ball like a million other kids and now doesn't want to anymore. No big deal.

That is kinda harsh dont you think, he gave basketball a shot and realized he had not future in it, so he wants to focus on others things that he can be successful in. We have all quit something once in our life, just like when Michael Jordan quit playing baseball it just didnt work out.

I commend him for wanting to concentrate on his studies. Money is not really an issue for him. So for wanting to get a jump start on real life is a good thing. maybe he can take over the jordan brand in a couple of years.

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
I just hope he can afford to complete his education and try to make something of himself.
