The Hawks and Golden State are close to finalizing a trade that would bring Jamal Crawford to Atlanta and send Acie Law and Speedy Claxton to the Warriors, according to two different sources with knowledge of the negotiations.

Good trade for the Hawks. Crawford isn't a great combo guard but he'll be able to fill the instant offense role as first man off the bench. The Hawks gave up nothing for him and this gives them leverage with bibby and flip not to overpay them.

Although he is another player similar to what they already have - a team full of one on one players...he is a positive addition.

Great deal for the Hawks. Jamal is a gifted scorer who should be a great 6th man for him.

Couldn't have said it any better... Crawford will definitely make up on the stats side for Acie Law and Claxton..

The Hawks basically told the world they won't be playing defense. Crawford will start at the 2 spot no doubt which should allow Joe Johnson more wiggle room on offense... but Basketball is played on two sides of the floor and I'm curious to see how the coach will deal with Crawford's lackadaisical effort on defense.

They have to resign Bibby but this clearly makes Flip a goner - bad move for ATL.

Didn't see much of the Hawks but wasn't Acie Law a lotto pick...couldn't make it thru his rookie contract...damn...he was nice in college

Bc Acie Law and Speedless Clankston play defense?

lol....lackadaisical is a REAL generous word.....
he SUCKS on D

Not sure why they are investing their cap space on Jamal- who
by my calculations has never even been IN the playoffs......
he can score- no doubt- but putting him into that mix is NOT
a good move- the Hawks would've been better off picking up a
mid-level Vet and save their $$$ for their upcoming contracts
they are going to have to pay

Great trade of Golden State oh please please please Atlanta take Crawford!

If this goes down good move for both Atl get another scorer, shooter, whatever Jamal still got game he'll help out Joe Joe with the scoring and for GS they get a young PG to try and run that team so in the draft they can get a big man Jordan Hill at #7

No he didn't. And for others, he will be a 6th man, a Manu Ginobli/Jason Terry/Ben Gordon of old player.

I don't know what Hawks are thinking... maybe the GM got carried away and made the deal. Yes this clearly puts them in bad shape from a cap perspective unless they have given up on resigning Joe Johnson and also believe Josh Smith is the next Tim Duncan.

I know they gave away scrubs to get him but those two scrubs are better than a one dimensional player with a bloated contract.
